They should have broken up after Paul died
Lame song.

| |
so excited for this album, for real
|
| |
im kinda hyped i cant lie
|
| |
Kinda hyped too, but this song got old and stale very quickly
|
| |
I like the fact that it sounds like the self-titled album, but the song itself is awful.
|
| |
still think corey's screams have gotten a lot worse since their last record
song is good though
|
| |
Is there any bass in this song? Seems like a large portion of low end is missing.
Video is scary.
|
| |
Let's listen to the far superior -1 by one of their contemporaries

WTF
|
| |
i'm really excited for this album. this song takes me back to hating everyone in middle school. good times.
|
| |
I like how it sounds like Iowa.
|
| |
video is bland. doesn't even go anywhere.
|
| |
I wished the video would have had them in it. I felt like it would have been more exciting.
|

I wished the video would have had them in it. I felt like it would have been more exciting.
|
| |
Didn't joey jordison leave? The drumming sounds exactly the same lol
|
| |
Video is terrible.
|
| |
They totally hired someone and told them to do their best Jordinson impression
|
| |
Can't wait for the new record
|
| |
"Video is kind of NSFW and features boobs that don't have nipples."
No, there are nipples, they just blurred them.
|
| |
"Let's listen to the far superior -1 by one of their contemporaries"
Agreed, thank you.
|
| |
moderately excited about this. Agreed that Corey sounds a little weak in the scream area
|
| |
this song could have been like 2 minutes shorter and would have been much better
|
| |
"Is there any bass in this song? Seems like a large portion of low end is missing."
I WONDER WHY
|
| |
What the actual fuck is going on in that video?
|
| |
terrible production
|
| |
TELL ME WHAT I'M SUPPOSED TO BE
TELL ME WHO I'M SUPPOSED TO BE
TELL ME WHAT IT TAKES TO ASCEND
TELL ME WHAT IT TAKES TO LIVE
|
| |
Is it just me, or does Corey sound high-pitched in the song?...
|
| |
Looking forward to this album
|
| |
that video was fucking stupid
|
| |
'They should have broken up after Paul died'
Just like The Beatles amirite
|
| |
What the actual fuck is going on in that video?
Shawn trying to be Rob Zombie.
|
| |
"Is there any bass in this song? Seems like a large portion of low end is missing."
I WONDER WHY
Lmao. Video is weird but the sound of this song is super close to how the mixes were in Iowa. Pretty decent but I'd rather form an opinion with the entire album.
|
| |
Oh dear god this is lame.
|
| |
Why is everyone comparing to Iowa when this sounds like S/T? Iowa was way heavier and in your face while this has the more stripped sound of their first record
|
| |
"Just like the beatles amirite"
i see everything you did there
|
| |
This took 6 years? Not looking forward to all the 'metal' fans acting like this is the second coming of Jesus.
|
| |
This didn't take six years to make. They went on hiatus after their 10-year anniversary as a
solidified band in 2009 and since then Corey's put out three albums with Stone Sour and other members
also worked on side project stuff, so they were all doing stuff in those six years.
And that's not even taking into account the whole "our bass player died and we don't know if we want
to continue without him" debacle which definitely ate up time, too.
|
| |
This video and song can get old very quickly. The song itself is a good return to form for a band that lost it's luster but it could get boring after a few listens. It should be about 4 minutes long instead of 5:30. Corey's vocals are less powerful now to boot. Will jam the album but I'm not sure this will be much better than their latest output.
|
| |
Honestly, I think I gave this too much credit on first listen. I was expecting something terrible, and this certainly isn't bottom
barrel, but it should have been much worse. I think when I heard a competent song, I freaked out, because I didn't think they
could put one out. I also kind of fell for the whole "guys, check how we're going back to our Iowa sound." the drum levels are
set up to sound how they sounded in the past, but they are very simplistic. Corey was the only thing that sounded off to me
first listen, but now he sounds worse. Instrumentally this is boring too. Honestly, Psychosocial was a much better single, then
we ended up with AHIG. So idk. This might be it for me and Slipknot. I'll see what happens when the album drops though.
|
| |
yes
|
| |
Sounds like they're trying to sound like they did in Iowa, and failing.
|
| |
I have a feeling the new album will be polarizing as fuck upon release.
|
| |
"According to corey this song isn't actually the single. The "official" single is coming out later, called "The Devil in I". "
all the song names are gonna be awful
|
| |
"Sounds like they're trying to sound like they did in Iowa, and failing."
yeah not all groups can pull off a "we're returning to a variation of our old style(s)" and make it really interesting imo. most of the times when a group does that its because their last few albums blew and they are just trying to get the energy and creativity of their success days back.
|
| |
Stupid video. It's kind of late into their career for Slipknot to be relying on shock value.
|
| |
Or the songwriting tropes of their early albums. Song is okay I guess and video is just ???
|
| |
Some of the effects midway through the song were mad fucking lame
|
| |
That was the first slipknot song I have ever heard. Man that was bad
|
| |
... yup, that's a slipknot song.
That's about all I can say about it.
|
| |
For them. Nothing special though
|
| |
when were slipknot's song names not awful lol
|
| |
Jeez, every comment here is whiny. Go to bed kids! Its Slipknot what do you expect, a pristinely
produced progressive metal type record???
This to me sounds like good ol Slipknot with the sound that kicked off there careers in the first
place.
|
| |
Agreed!
|
| |
I'd rather listen to the entire album as a whole before getting a strong opinion.
|
| |
