aoty 2015 confirmed then
|
| |
Pretty much, but I'm severely biased.
|
| |
Aaah the sweet smell of a radiohead announcement.
|
| |
They'll split
|
| |
Fuck yeah
|
| |
Will come out before new Tool album.
|
| |
Yes this is such great news, hopefully will be just as good as In Rainbows
|
| |
suspiciously there's no indication in the article that the next Radiohead album isn't a tribute to Korn
|
| |
"They'll split"
We don't use those words around here.
|
| |
A few sessions.
Creativity at a bit of a low ebb
Discussion
Split
Solo output for evermore
I'll put me house on it.
|
| |
radiohead will never split theyre robots designed to create the best music ever without ever splitting
|
| |
First three happened during In Rainbows sessions, but they kept at it until they got the creativity back. Took two years, but they stayed together. Hopefully they don't call it quits this time just because they're at a creative low.
|
| |
Good news, interested to see what will happen after King of Limbs
|
| |
king of limbs WAS their creative low. Juices gotta be flowing by now.
|
| |
will be out before half life 3
|
| |
everyone is misinterpreting this imo. sounds to me more like they're gonna meet up in sept just to jam and work on some new stuff, but they've said fuck all about recording a new album just yet.
so this isn't really news. it's radiohead. they might release an album tomorrow or not until 2017.
|
| |
radiohead album confirmed for tomorrow then
|
| |
"king of limbs WAS their creative low. Juices gotta be flowing by now."
TKOL was excellent what are you talking about
|
| |
Will come out before new Tool album. [2]
|
| |
TKOL was excellent what are you talking about [2]
awesome news either way. it's cool just to hear these guys are all converging from their recent solo stuff to just jam together and get back in the groove.
|
| |
is there seriously a staffer called sgt pepper now? i don't know why i expect better from you, sputnik.
|
| |
TKOL was one of their best. they're on a hot streak right now and i hope they keep it going with this
one
whenever the hell it comes out
|
| |
the tkol stuff was infinitely better live. seeing them play those songs live made the album seem incomplete in comparison.
|
| |
Sgt. Pepper has been a staffer for a few years now dude
|
| |
Joined 02-26-12 so "a few years" seems like a stretch now dude
|
| |
I'm not among the most memorable, but yeah I've been here for two years (a staffer for 1).
While I do like the sound of some of tkol stuff live (the guitars in magpie coming directly to mind- especially the basement recordings) i disagree. I think the album versions sound much better. It might not sound as instantly engaging as the other albums, but there is a hypnotic quality to the dreary like mood of tkol. I like that every radiohead album has a different "mood", and being someone who is proned to depression and insomnia, tkol's is one i always return to. I've really begun to love that moody and 'mechanical' sound they went for. (i don't know how many feel that way though).
|
| |
yeah i agree In Rainbows/TKOL (live for me personally as thats my favorite way to listen to it, how can you beat TKOL + staricase and the daily mail?!) have been two of my personal favorites from them so I'm interested to see where they go from there. Hopefully they lay down some of the tracks they've been playing live like skirting on the surface, cut a hole, ful stop, identikit, etc
|
| |
i'm not talking about "live versions," i mean LIVE live. i was blown away and haven't listened to the actual album since because i knew that'd be an exercise in disappointment.
|
| |
@Iron
that would be cool. id like to hear studio versions of those as well.
@Sat
oh, my apologies. I misread. I havent seen Radiohead live unfortunately aside from youtube videos (but obviously not even close to the same thing).
|
| |
yeah they came to michigan for the first time in over 15 years a couple summers ago. easily the best single set i've ever seen.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuTFhJrAvqc
(not my vid but thom holds the body of his guitar up to the mic and sings into the sound hole at one point so)
|
| |
yeah at 3:40. I love Thom's concert antics. I love how he doesn't just perform the music he plays, like he gets truly consumed by
it (does that make sense?). My favourite song from them is "the national anthem" and in a few sets (like the one from I Might Be
Wrong) he does this rhythmic coughing in the intro, a small alteration, but it just makes it so much more awesome.
|
| |
TKOL was indeed excellent, and even if you didn't like it, the creativity is still apparent. new album, please please please be released in 2015
|
| |
what's the track from TKOL with the extra drums. like it goes BLOMPA DOMP DOMP in a repeated pattern for most of the song
that was brilliant
|
| |
Live version of TKOL is so better than the original y'all should check
|

this it? lots of the songs on the album use multiple drums iicrc. they had 2 drummers on the entire tour also.
|
| |
i bet the new album will be released in 2016
|
| |
Please be as good as In Rainbows.
|
| |
agreed elbaliem. early to mid-2016.
|
| |
fuck yea
|
| |
Hoping it'll be a little bit better than KOTL, that album was a little bit lackluster (only when compared to their other releases though)
|
| |
kol is their third best album sup
|
| |
lol /mu/core band
|
| |
Please be as good as In Rainbows {2}
|
| |
I mean if it's not KoL can it not be great?
|
| |
TKOL is great in its own way but I'd prefer something different from what they've done before. Which knowing them will probably be the case
|
| |
If there is a case to be made for any specific direction they'll go, I think it will be a more electronic/dancier album with the
style of the unreleased songs "Identikit" and "Fullstop" from their 2012 tour. I would really dig that too because those
songs are awesome.
|
| |
Ehhhhh.
|
| |
BLOMPA DOMP DOMP [2]
