BFMV's Upcoming Record

2007-04-14 by ToWhatEnd | 16 Comments
From Billboard

"The Welsh rockers recorded 11 songs for the as-yet-untitled follow-up to 2005's "The Poison" in January and February with producer Colin Richardson at Sonic Ranch Studios in El Paso, Texas. Frontman Matt Tuck is slated to finish his vocals after the group comes off the road in May, with a hoped-for release this fall.

"It's definitely a heavier progression than 'The Poison,'" Padget tells Billboard.com. "There's a lot more guitar work, as in solos and classic guitar parts. The drum work is a lot more upbeat. It's just a forward progression of Bullet -- heavier, upbeat, better."

Padget says the group drew inspiration for the new album from "'80s bands" -- none specifically but more, he explains, "just vibes from that time. You watch movies on TV, the old ones with the 80's soundtracks and stuff -- it really gets us off," Padget says. "We're trying to sound older -- more '80s than 2000, I guess."

Well we've all already watched and heard Trivium get worse by going more "80's" but I have quite a bit more faith in these guys myself; especially since it's the vibe from the 80's, not the Metallica from the 80's.

This will probably suck just as much as The Poison did.

I don't mind them, but they're way overhyped. And truth be told...more 80's bands does not sound promising.

I really wouldn't consider it progression if they're taking inspiration from the past which has already been done before. How about trying something new that's never been heard before?!

Only 80's soundtrack stuff i can remember off hand is Axel F Beverly hills cop nonsense ! ! F f f f f ooking hell !
The actual 'vibe ' i can feel from the statement is more commercial which i think a shame as they are a reasonably talented band

If Trivium are the "new metallica" then are Bullet going to be the new Proclaimers? They're about as heavy and as metal IMO

They were a f**king great band and there premier song hand of blood is the best first song for a band ive ever heard and even though i couldn't move the next day the mosh to it was amazin in the birmingham academy and lookin forward to seein them in wembley so tell me what you realy have against them other than because no new songs have been released since the new poison and its gone a bit stale.
P,S trivium could never live up to Metallica thats why when they became "more 80's" it made them bigger douches, Bullet arent like that.
