Rufio Calls it Quits

2007-04-08 by doctorsscriptsand666 | 18 Comments
Pop-punk group Rufio have posted the following statement on their myspace blog, announcing their impending break-up:

"Well... its been a while friends... and we've finally decided that its time to do an official farewell show with all the members of rufio on June 1st. We thought it would be a good way to show our appreciation to all our hometown friends and fans who have supported us from the very beginning. We figured the Glasshouse would be a very appropriate venue to host the show and we hope to see ALLLL of you there! we'll be playing a variety of songs, and even oldies we rarely play! Its going to be a sad night but it also means the birth of new projects and new music!

"We're also going down to South America in june for one last hoorah. we're very excited about this. there are some shows posted right now, and more will be posted later. we cant wait to party with you crazy south americans! come party with us one last time!"

WHAT THE FUCK

This is fucking gayness. Granted, their last album wasn't all that great, but Perhaps, I Suppose was awesome.

It seems as though the bands that worship strung out aren't lasting as long as strung out. A wilhelm scream better stay together damnit!

07 = the official year for pop punk bands to break up, Matchbook Romance, The Early November (thank God), and now Rufio (and probably some others I missed). All that and it's only April...

I think that if one good pop punk band breaks up, a better one should get back together! Face to Face anyone?

is that a joke ? whats going on ? i know whats wrong ... FOB took the pop-punk to the next level and they pushed everyone to break up or change their sound ... thats their fault .. they killed the good pop-punk and i really hate their style with the funny voices and their clones panic ! and academy is ... if this is going to be the future of pop punk then i ll never listen to pop-punk again ..
