Kevin Costner Sues Promoter

2007-04-07 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 9 Comments
Kevin's Music LLC, the company which represents Kevin Costner's musical interests, has filed an $8.5 million lawsuit against Mahee Worldwide Ventures Inc., a New York-based promoter that Costner has accused of reneging on a deal to hype the Kevin Costner Band.

Mahee and Costner inked a deal in January of this year which would have seen the launch of a "Costner Music Website" and a string of (sold-out?) concert dates across America which would almost certainly have made the multi-millionaire a multi-millionaire... again.

Despite their "numerous promises regarding their capability to promote Mr. Costner's music," Mahee Worldwide "ultimately disappeared, refusing to cooperate or even to communicate with KML and its representatives," court documents, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, read. The full list of allegations includes breach of written and oral (Mahee do represent Lindsay Lohan, after all) contract, breach of oral personal guaranty, fraud and deceit.

I know, I know. Kevin Costner isn't a singer, right? Wrong. The man best knows as Tin Cup fronts the imaginatively titled Kevin Costner Band and even made an appearance on The Postman soundtrack, duetting with pop singer Amy Grant. But can he sing? Once again, I'm way ahead of you. Check out this fab clip of the band performing 'The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance.' Tell me that laughter you hear isn't stunned awe.

Tin Cup was filmed on the golf course that was connected to the street I used to live on.
Fun fact of the day.

I can't decide if I should laugh or show pity after seeing that clip. So I'm doing both. Sorta. As for this news... thank God they came to their senses.

That video was almost as funny as Waterworld, certainly less painful. Still, I can't decide if he's better or worse than Bruce Willis.

I'll check the video later, but if Kevin Costner's singing is anything as bad as his acting its going to be goddamn fvcking awful.
