The Offspring tribute CD

2007-04-03 by Alex101 | 8 Comments
While we wait for the forthcoming new record from the Offspring, bluegrass act Cornbread Red has assembled a collection of Offspring tracks reinterpreted ala bluegrass.

The group, which previously tackled material from Van Halen, Linkin Park, Franz Ferdinand and Green Day, recorded all Offspring favorites for the disc, entitled Americano: The Bluegrass Tribute to The Offspring which is due out on April 24, 2007 from CMH Records. Tracks covered include "All I Want," " Self Esteem," "The Kids Aren’t Alright" and others.

Sadly, despite this great set up, we were unable to find any music samples online, but some of their recordings of Green Day and Van Halen can be streamed from Rhapsody provided you satisfy their residency requirements.

1. All I Want
2. Self Esteem
3. Want You Bad
4. The Kids Aren't Alright
5. Gone Away
6. Gotta Get Away
7. Jennifer Lost the War
8. Can't Repeat
9. Staring at the Sun
10. Hit That
11. Something to Believe In

this might actually be kind of cool. i'd like to see them cover more of their bad songs as they would be hilarious. don't know how some of the harder ones will turn out.

Cornbread Red sucks. Take a look at my Green Day bluegrass tribute review. Honeywagon would do a much better job. But this should be interesting to hear.
