I'm a Mastodon fan and I as much as I hate to admit it, he's right. I hope this albums sounds nothing like The Hunter or Crack the Skye and I hope they bring back the harsh vocals.

I got into Mastodon around Crack The Skye and absolutely loved The Hunter. They seem to be on this "simple" approach this time around like they were on The Hunter so I imagine it'll be something like that. Brann did compare some of the music to Radiohead so it could be the weirdest thing ever, who knows until we actually hear some new shit.
As for those who want the harsh vocals, I doubt it'll happen anytime soon since Brent has said that he hates screaming because it hurts his throat, and I can only imagine how Troy & Brann feel.

I've heard it's going to be a mix of The Hunter and Blood Mountain so i'm pretty pumped. I loved those two albums. I'm actually one of the few who disliked Crack The Skye. Other than Oblivion and Divinations it bored the hell out of me for the most part. These guys are best when they do shorter, catchier songs.
