Jane's Addiction have released a new song in advance of the upcoming Uproar Festival, on which they will embark tomorrow along with Alice In Chains, Coheed & Cambria and many others.

According to the band's frontman, Perry Farrell, the story behind 'Another Soulmate' is the following:

"Etty [Lau Farrell, Perry's wife] had a girlfriend and this girlfriend, as all people do, really wanted a mate, and I think she shortchanged herself an awful lot in life. She's a good-looking woman, she had a career, but when it came to love and romance, she sold herself short all the time and she would reach out to guys that we would scratch our head like, 'What is she doing with this guy?' She said, 'I feel like he's my soul mate.' Any time she'd meet a guy she'd say, 'I feel like he's my soul mate.' So I wrote this song".

good, better than the last 2 efforts for sure.... but still Perry should have stopped JA after the 90's, they sound like everything else now

I actually like The Great Escape Artist, but this is kinda average. Hoping for a follow-up like they mentioned at one point.

Strays was a bit lacking, but The Great Escape Artist is shorter and songs like Twisted Tales, Underground, End To The Lies or I'll Hit You Back are really catchy. Still, their early material is a lot more expansive compared to the new stuff.

If they release another album soon, they'll break their trend of releasing one album per decade!
