New Manchester Orchestra Split

2013-04-09 by FromDaHood | 20 Comments
In preparation for this year's Record Store Day, indie rock group Manchester Orchestra has partnered with Frightened Rabbit and Grouplove to record a two song split that will be available on 12" vinyl. Hull explained that the project came about when he "sent a text to the first two bands we wanted to work with and they said yes," and that he was so happy with the final product that it "won't be the last time we collaborate with either band." Original artwork for the vinyl release was completed by Grouplove vocalist Hannah Hooper and Manchester Orchestra keyboardist Chris Freeman. In anticipation for Record Store Day, Canvasback Records has released both songs on their Soundcloud page: http://soundcloud.com/canvasback/sets/record-store-day

The Manchester/Grouplove song is pretty good, a weird sound in a good way. I think it's a bit too long though

@ clercqie What are yours, our of interest?

- At The Drive-In reissue
- Titus Andronicus 12"
- The Hold Steady 7"
I reserved these three already.

And further possibilities are:
- Husker Du 2x7"
- Elephant reissue
- Reservoir Dogs OST

And just random stuff I find in the store.

Reserved?! Pah...

The Twilight Sad/Bill Wells & Aidan Moffat split 7" and Frightened Rabbit's Midnight Organ Fight reissue are my two main priorities, and I'd also love the Mogwai/L. Pierre split 7".

Hey man, I'll be lucky if the guy actually gets those, because they're mostly being distributed in America. I had to specifically tell the shop owner about those because otherwise he wouldn't have even known those releases were coming out.

See, the ones you listed aren't on the Belgian release list as well.

And idk, all the actual fighting for some super special releases really seems kinda stupid to me, so if I don't get them no big deal.

Just picked this up. The Grouplove song is pretty sweet, but the one with Frightened Rabbit is phenomenal.
