Cool. Before announcing the break, Grohl said about a year ago the band would start working on a new album. I'm happy I don't have to wait another 2 years or so for new material.

He will be, Homme said that 'Dave will be with us for the tour and the new album, after that we'll see where we go'.

Just happened to be listening to 'Wasting Light' when I saw this news. I remember how good this is,
and so I have the same opinion as anyone else: if the new record can reach the quality of 'Wasting
Light' (it might be a bit too much to ask it to surpass), than it'll be one to repeat in 2013.

I have to give the man credit despite how mediocre I find most of his stuff, the guy works hard and is probably one of the best things going in mainstream rock.

I'm kind of hoping they change the sound though. Granted I don't want no dubstep and shit but I always find Foo Fighters to be an amazing singles band but everything outside the singles has been unremarkable and the songwriting just blends together album to album but maybe that's just me.

They should have gone out on There Is Nothing Left To Lose. Everything since then has been fairly mediocre. In Your Honor had a couple really good tracks, but they haven't made a solid album in years.
Regardless, I still have respect for Grohl and the band.
