AT THIS POINT IN TIME I DON'T GIVE A FUCK but I thought somebody else might. Heck if they can get
$150k from fans then obviously there's still a market for their sound.

lol
|
| |
This is going to be a complete abortion. Can't wait to review it.
|
| |
terrible news i was hoping they'd broken up oh well
|
| |
$150,000 for a shitty MSI album?!
|
| |
their incentives are fucked up
you can chip in for a hoodie BUT NO ALBUM FOR YOU
give us $5000? LOL SRY GOTTA BUY A COPY ANYWAYS
what a bunch of cunts
|
| |
They sound like dicks.
|
| |
They could have recorded this album by themselves for free but noooooo. If they don't get $150,000 they're going to erase the tapes? Likely story. They probably already recorded it and are going to use this money for crack. I fucking hate this band and I am surprised they haven't broken up or died yet.
|
| |
get over it
|
| |
Thank you for that insightful contribution.
|
| |
I'd argue that a large portion of the money is going to cover the incentives, but there's a lot up for grabs that the band already owns and mass printing of hoodies isn't that expensive.
If the album is good (aka You'll Rebel To Anything or earlier vibes) I'll be surprised, but I'm not sure they've got it in them.

| |
I hate when bands use Kickstarter
|
| |
They could have at least ironed the shirts before advertising them...
|
| |
"I hate when bands use Kickstarter"
why? some bands use it because they have to. money grabbing things like this are obviously bullshit (150K, really?) but some bands like hester prynne absolutely need the money to move forward.
|
| |
I think it depends on what it's used for. The Saddest Landscape used Kickstarter to get vinyl presses of their early albums but as long as you donated like.. $15, you were guaranteed a copy. Shit like that is cool. Asking for $150k is not.
|
| |
Jesus Christ did they actually have the balls to write "Album not included, you can clearly afford to buy that shit separately." on the $5k one? You pay $5k to have your name in the song title (lol) and then you have to go to the store and buy it?
|
| |
This band and their fanbase are horrible excuses for human beings.
This is disguisting
|
| |
that's ok
|
| |
Ain't giving those douches shit.
|
| |
I mean...I'm pretty excited for the album xD
|
| |
nononono
|

isn't one of them married to gerard way? so surely they can't be that desperate for money.
|
| |
These guys sound like total dickheads.
|
| |
I feel so alone in looking forward to a new album by them...
|
| |
Forgot this band existed
|

Their singer is like 43 lol
|

gay band
|
| |
The video is annoying.
|
| |
How the hell have they gotten $97 000 in donations?!
Anyway, I only liked Frankenstein Girls and a couple of tracks from the one after.
|
| |
Oh you fooled me, God damnit.
|
| |
Gerard Way is married to Lyn-Z.
|
| |
this is still a band. sigh.
|
| |
like msi
dont give a fuck
|
| |
ultimate dirty dancing soundtrack
|
| |
You can get the album when it comes out by donating one dollar.
Come on guys, it's not that bad. Plus most of the money, besides going towards recording, is used for producing the merchandise for the people who pledged and stuff. They said it themselves.

I've argued against kickstarter costs before when Figure did one for his album, so I've been wrong on this subject before.
Take a look at what the incentives are. The majority of them the band already has/owns. The hoodies can be purchased at less than $40 per shirt when ordered in bulk, as can the shirts.
The record is planned for a March release, so in all likelyhood the album is at least close to completion already or in a demo state, needing to be produced. I don't know production costs, but lets assume all the above incentives require $50k; $100k for producing is a bit steep, especially in this day and age.
Alternatively, the demo is pretty catchy strangely enough:

Yeah the demo they released sounds fucking amazing
