"The Red" is their best in my opinion. It's simple, but something about that chord progression is so catchy.

nice, might get this.
but no Letters From a Thief?? wth
|
| |
how ironic that their favorite tracks also happen to be singles. Anyway, great hard rock band!
|
| |
Really don't like the tracklist if I'm honest. Interested to hear Fizgig.
|
| |
just listen to janus and forget about this band
|
| |
4 songs from Hats off to the bull, only 1 off from Vena Sera? Why only 11 tracks? Fuck this
|
| |
I predict Chevelle breaks up / takes a hiatus in the next year.
|
| |
much needed release agreed.
|
| |
Good lineup. Don't understand how they could leave off Closure but put in that horrible song The Clincher.
|
| |
Hats Off To The Bull is my least favorite album by them. It is definitely is taking up too much space on here. I fucking love I Get It.
|
| |
This is the worst 11 song they could've picked. Oh well, I hate compilations.
|
| |
It's like someone said earlier, it's basically just a Greatest Hits album, they just disguised it as this "Compilation of Favorites."
|
| |
For the person who asked why only 11 songs, I think their record contract only allows them 11 tracks per album.
This could have been done so much better though. I mean there's only 1 Vena Sera song there, no Point #1, etc. I always thought when they released a Best Of compilation they should've included a bonus disk of outtakes/B-sides etc. They have some great bonus tracks: Glimpse of the Con, Leto's Headache, Sleepwalking Elite, In Debt to the Earth...
|
| |
band makes good album tracks, shoulda thrown saferwaters, still running, dont fake it, mexican sun etc
its got sleep apnea nice
|
| |
Don't get the mild Chevelle hate, they are one of the most consistent, enjoyable bands out there.
|
| |
How "Best Of" records continue to exist in the age of playlists and single song downloads (and piracy) blows my mind.
|
| |
"Don't get the mild Chevelle hate, they are one of the most consistent, enjoyable bands out there."
Lol, for mainstream rock bands maybe.

lol, what?
|
| |
Wow, lots of Hats Off to the Bull, and is "The Meddler" really a fan favorite? It's a great song but I didn't think ppl liked it as much as their singles. Lol they would only include 11 songs (just like they only ever have 11 songs on every album)
Curious to hear the new track. What Omahastylee said makes me sad though, don't butthurt me like that man, I know it's coming I can feel it too, but you don't have to go and ruin a nigga's day =[
|
| |
12 songs? Bullshit
|
| |
"Wow, lots of Hats Off to the Bull, and is "The Meddler" really a fan favorite?"
Basically, the story behind The Meddler is that Chevelle made a facebook poll after the release of Hats Off... asking people what they thought the best song was/next single should be. Apparantley, The Meddler came out on top with flying colors, so ever since I think the band's been under some kind of (dis?)illusion that all their fans love The Meddler.
I'm kinda bummed there's no Point #1 though, that was actually a pretty good record. Someday they should re-record and re-release it, or at least do an EP of a few re-recorded songs. I think that'd be neat.
|
| |
^I agree with that, it's a good record but had a very low-quality sound to it. I think it actually made the album unique in it's own way because it was a more raw sound but I still like their other records better.

I love it the way it is, any change to it would make it lose its charm

Yeah, it certainly wasn't the worst-sounding quality I've heard on a record, but the heavy bits sounded really fuzzy and thin. I don't see how some versions with better-budget production and improved vocal skill would hurt.

Wonder What's Next ruled, and Vena Sera had a couple of jams. They were one of the only "radio" bands that was ever worth anything honestly.

You can't deny dem choruses
