The Dillinger Escape Plan record new album

2012-11-11 by Voivod STAFF | 94 Comments
The Dillinger Escape Plan have recently entered the studio along with producer Steve Evetts, in order to record their new album which is set for release in April 2013.

According to guitarist Ben weinman:

The new material has substantial influences from hardcore/punk. This is probably related to the fact that all my favorite bands back in the day are getting reunited. Billy (Rhymer, drums) and me used to listen to those old hardcore records and those listening sessions were giving us some massive drive for composing of our own material. Greg Puciato's lyrics are extremely dismal in their meanings, I honestly think that if those songs won't put some holes in the wall, I don't know what will.

predicting an average of 4.6, not quite to the level of deftones but it gave a great shot

And once again, to great effect, Sputnik acts silly and pretends like hype ruins music. I understand how puzzling hypetrains can be, but it shouldn't negatively alter one's opinion on an album.

I just bring this up because I expect a lot of you to hate on this album when it comes out, ~just bc its average rating will b high~, etc.
