Aerosmith To Close Boston

2012-11-04 by EyeForAnEye | 38 Comments
In preparation for a 20 minute performance by the band on Monday, the city of Boston has announced that they will be closing an entire neighborhood for 8 hours.

The band plans to perform a concert at noon on a mobile stage in front of 1325 Commonwealth Ave., the apartment building where the rock group got its start, said a spokesperson for Boston's Mayor.

Subway and rail service will also be suspended for a few streets, said MBTA officials, who then told riders to use other modes of transportation.

According to sources, Monday’s event was secretly being planned for about three years.

20 minutes. about the length of their combined back catalogue of songs that don't completely make me wanna scratch my face off, when synced with videos that have Alicia Silverstone in them

They're shutting down all of Comm Ave to hear a zombie Steven Tyler promote their new album...

Just another reason why it sucks to live in Allston.

this is a little bit misleading, the band are playing for 20 minutes but the event is supposedly an hour+, as it includes a plaque being awarded to the band and other such ceremonial back-patting but yes i agree, 3 years of planning to shut off a neighborhood and all of its public transit for 8 hours in order for aerosmith to play a 20 minute set and make a big deal out of themselves is absurd

this is so stupid...and why only 20 minutes? is that how long Steven Tyler can be off his oxygen?

I live right down the street, didn't go though, but they actually played for an hour. Not 20 minutes like this article says.

How was it? Was it actually entertaining or did they blow it.
