Rage Against The Machine Unite

2007-01-21 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 27 Comments
According to the Los Angeles Times, seminal rap-rock fusion group Rage Against The Machine are to re-unite for a one-off gig at this year's Coachella Festival in California.

The group formally broke up seven years ago, citing creative and personal difference. Frontman Zach de la Rocha became immersed in political projects while the three remaining members- guitarist Tom Morello, bassist Tim Commerford and drummer Brad Wilk- went on to form Audioslave with ex-Soundgarden singer Chris Cornell in 2001.

Audioslave is currently on short-term hiatus as Cornell prepares to release his second solo album.

Not close to Jersey? How about Australia?! Cheapest flights look like AU$2000. Never been to America before, could be good.

Too bad I don't live in California. I hope they're not just doing a single show and then re-break up. It'd be awesome if Rage was back for good.

This is amazing, sucks its only one show. But in my honest opinion I think this will be one of those thing where they will play this and then be like oh we enjoyed it so much were going to do a tour. I think there just saying one show so they can see how it goes and not go on the road and then they don't enjoy it. I don't know really hope its more than one show.

I hope they get the old energy back and realise what they've been missing, and then carry on touring!

I had to double take when i saw this, thought my eyes we deceiving me, never in a million!

AGGGH! I wish I could go to this. This is awesome, although not nearly as awesome as when Pink Floyd got back together.

edit: I read an interview in a guitar magazine with Tom that said that he had bumped into Zach at a protest/demo/i don't know, and he had said that Zach had wanted to get in touch. So good feelings I guess. This Message Edited On 01.22.07

they had better record the hell out of this. even a dvd release.

i can't wait to see how much zach has aged, or if he has gotten rusty. i love ratm's rhythm section.
