Randy Travis: Country Boy Blue 2012-08-26 by JohnXDoesn't | 26 Comments | Six time Grammy winner and former choirboy of country Randy Travis was cited this past Friday for simple assault after being an asshat outside the Prestonwood Baptist Church somewhere deep in the lonely heart of Texas.
Police arrived on scene to find the scrawny singer / songwriter / current lunatic making a spectacle of himself in front of the entire church congregation. Apparently forgoing the leanings he likes to sing about on his several gospel albums, Randy saw fit to step between a man and his wife during an argument outside the good lord's house and pummel the man to the ground. You see, Randy is her "friend." So he was obligated to protect her from her own husband outside of church.
Witnesses say Randy started the whole ordeal, threw the first blow, and appeared intoxicated. The singer was cited by police with a slap on the wrist and then released on account of being a legendary country singer in the state of Texas.
Earlier this year former somebody Travis was cited for being drunk in a church parking lot doing god knows what in his car, and placed on probation. And he has been in trouble ever since apparently , as once the devil's got you Rand, he's got you good.
From lying naked and drunk in the road to trying to buy a pack of cigs while naked and drunk, Randy just keeps on rolling, as those incidents earlier this month go to prove. After walking into a store naked but forgetting his wallet, on August 7th Travis crashed his car into a construction zone and flung himself naked onto the highway. When police arrived he was hostile and threatened their lives. Travis was arrested and charged and paid $21,500 for his freedom. Woo-Hoo Texas!
This is Randy's first real trouble with the law and first public sign of drink since the superstar emerged on the scene nearly 30 years ago, on his way to becoming one of the most heralded country performers of his or any other generation. But in 2010 Travis divorced his wife of 19 years (the far less then stunning Lib Hatcher) after Hatcher planted a Randy Randy Cam on his tour bus and caught her country boy in bed with the younger wife of a dentist. To be fair Lib is 70 so it would be hard to have sex with anyone older. So she shouldn't feel so bad.
Whatever the case the 19 year marriage, business partnership, and 34 year friendship ended and the loss may have turned Travis to drink, public nudity, and disruption at the house of God.
Just goes to show even if she is 70 and looks like a troll, it still hurts.

There is definitely something wrong in Randy's head here lately. He IS an asshat and a disaster just waiting to happen regardless of where he's at or what he's doing. Let's not belittle the GREAT state of Texas though, he may have gotten a couple of slaps on the wrist for these crimes but they won't tolerate much more, if any!
