Tuttle was perfect for the band.

They'll find someone more than suitable to fill his position, he was awesome when I saw them live a couple years back, but this band has had so many line up changes and all of the new members have fit the band well each time so i'm not too worried about it

Jeff is great and is definitely a loss to the band but JEEZ I almost shit myself because I thought it was Ben.

^If Ben decided he hated everyone/didn't want to do the band anymore (or both), there wouldn't be any DEP. He writes all of the music - everyone else is (in a sense) replaceable, although I couldn't honestly see the band carrying on if Greg decided to leave. The main thing Jeff brought to the band was his personality and energy, which will be hugely missed I think

from various interviews and stuff i've read it seems that ben just goes and locks himself away during the writing process and then brings everything in to see if the other memebers have any input. But by the sounds of things it's his band and his rules

Honestly DEP is basically just Greg and Ben, all other members (and maybe even greg) are replaceable.

I guess he doesn't think he could keep up with the work load of DEP while studying and doing side projects?

Either way I hope they find someone and that their next album is better for it.
