FOB Again a Corporate Whore

2007-01-08 by Jom | 20 Comments
As previously reported (http://www.sputnikmusic.com/news.php?newsid=2240), Fall Out Boy turned into a corporate whore by whoring themselves to one of the biggest corporations in the Milky Way system: Wal-Mart.

As if whoring to that corporation wasn't enough for them - maybe it had something to do with the typical employee there, whose average teeth count is in the single digits - Fall Out Boy is now going to shill for Honda by playing on its 2007 Honda Civic Tour, which begins on April 18. However, no other acts have been announced at this time.

Sure, 'cause nothing screams 'POP-PUNK!!1' more than a Honda Civic.

Good Charlotte played this awhile back so pop punk and the Civic tour are really nothing new. Take the bias a few notches down as well brotha, though I am just as angry towards FoB at this stage in their careers as you are.

I never thought I would grow from dislike to strong hate but it happened. Their new single didn't help either.

I wouldn't be surprised if this stuff was more of the label's decision than theirs.

Well the single obviously is, and I'm curious as to exactly how far it goes. The Wal-Mart thing is most likely the label's decision as well, it will be interesting to see the other band's on this tour.

You know it would be good if Honda had a promotion of some type of contest to win a Civic or Accord at each show or something.

But, what the hell since when does Honda put tours together?!

Well you can't blame the boys.

I didn't like them back when they were kind of underground. I like "Under a Cork Tree", and probably will hate the next album because they will probably lose their charm. Oh me, oh my.

Silly wal mart.

I'd sell myself to them if I could. Extra bucks always come in handy.

I'm kind of disappointed in the direction that the bands going in... but is it down to them or the label?

It's them trying to be 'original, different, and artistic' and failing miserably, at least from what I have heard so far. Blame the label for the single choices, Wal-Mart and stuff for that nature. But in reality, Island will be cashing in big time with this release I'm sure.
