I'm pretty sure everyone's (well maybe not everyone's, but a lot of people) first reaction when they heard that one of the victims was a 3 month old baby was "what the fuck was a 3 month old doing there in the first place?". He's not trying to compare this tragedy to a kid's hearing being ruined, he's just questioning how a kid could have even been in a position like that. And I agree

Of course there are, but this is still a "heart wrenching story" and Draiman is questioning why it had to happen in the first place. He's allowed to comment on one isolated aspect of the event without having to provide some kind of overreaching statement regarding everything. Anyway more terrific American logic: One of the guys who was shot is in an induced coma right now but didn't have insurance meaning that if/when he comes round, along with brain damage he's gonna have to deal with a $2million medical bill. The logic there being "Let's let people buy dangerous weapons at will, but let them have affordable/free healthcare? OH HELL NO, that's a stupid idea! Why would anyone want affordable healthcare paid for through taxes in case they get shot by one of the millions of guns owned by members of the public?"

I'm not going to go deep in to the whole gun issue or say which side is right, but I want to add that many criminals that would be inclined to do crimes such as this would still end up with guns even if gun ownership was legally restricted.

Well if gun crime further increases in the event of gun control, it'd be a rather sad indictment of American society compared to other countries where guns are illegal and, despite having occasional occurrences it's nowhere near US levels.
