hmmmmmmmmmmmm
| |
Will be bad
| |
omg
| |
I hope it goes good for them. They're a decent band and Claudio Sanchez is a really nice guy in person.
| |
say hello to ya motha for me
| |
amazing band, but this will probably suck
| |
boardwalk producers
will be fucking amazing marky mark is my hero
| |
Mark Wahlberg is cool
| |
Err... Nah, really, as much as I love Coheed and will probably see this, they need to start keeping it to the albums. Comics and novels were enough. Movies are a little too far.
| |
I don't care if it sucks really really horribly I'll still love it because Coheed and Cambria.
It would take a lot to dis-associate myself with their ridiculously great albums.
| |
do scene kids still like this band?
| |
scene kids like them though gawd
| |
I'm probably going to watch this even if its bad because I love this band. They gonna use Coheed songs as the soundtrack?
| |
i just imagine them using coheed songs that are like huge orchestral versions GOD THAT WOULD BE SO BADASS FUUUUU I LOVE YOU MARKY MARK
| |
Scene kids stopped liking them 3 months after From Fear Through the Eyes of Madness came out.
| |
sounds pretty cool
| |
will be gay as fuck, band sucks
| |
Becuase of his gay voice amirite guys? What a stupid band. They can't write songs.
| |
ignorance ITT
| |
gonna butts
| |
and what of the funky bunch?
| |
'Becuase of his gay voice amirite guys? What a stupid band. They can't write songs'
shut the fuck up
| |
I'm not sure how to feel about this.
| |
Fucking great band. Dunno how the movie's gonna turn out, but I'm still interested in seeing more of the storyline. Goddamnit why can't Claudio just write books for the other four albums already.
| |
I figure that this will probably tank because
1. Not enough movie goers will know about the complex 5 album story from some alt-prog band
2. it will probably be bad
But it will be neat to finally delve into this story because I've been curious but not enough to actually care about buying the comics
I'd be surprised if it's not direct to DVD. I mean, shit, Bruce Dickinson's movie was direct to DVD.
| |
"shut the fuck up"
K.
| |
Marky Mark doesn't go straight to dvd motherfucker
| |
I figure that this will probably tank because
1. Not enough movie goers will know about the complex 5 album story from some alt-prog band
a. why do moviegoers need to know the story going in? Thats what movie trailers are for...
b. its a four album story
| |
As much as you, me, and everybody else wants this to rock, for reasons stated above this will probably tank at the box office even though it might actually be a good movie.
I'm totally seeing it regardless though...
| |
They don't need to mention Coheed in the marketing at all
It will have the same odds as any other sci fi flick at the box office, if it gets good reviews it will probably do well if the budget is modest
| |
don't care if marky mark is playing. who is going to direct it and who is the script writer coz thats all that matter.
| |
Christopher Nolan is free
| |
they're primarily television producers, except for that contraband movie i believe, and some upcoming stuff... regardless, nobody knows anything about how the movie is going to turn out because nobody knows anybody who is working on it.
until somebody is tapped to write the script all bets are off...
what is extremely cool is that this grandiose project that claudio has kept up with has caught the attention from outside of the music industry's commercial and critical black hole.
| |
na 5th album is a prequel
| |
123 cad
| |
(smiley)
| |
Seriously what if Nolan directed this
| |
whoa
| |
i dont think nolan's a spacerock-opera kinda guy. and he produces stuff on his own with his wife and brother i think...
they should get this guy: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm1206844/
| |
showbread movie will be better.
| |
maybe
| |
I love Marky Mark, but this sounds silly.
| |
Marky Mark will be the only good thing about this movie.
| |
this is going to blow chunks
| |
it has been a long time since someone made a space opera. also the story is huge and as the first movie the people in charge of this should try to make a self-contained story and not bank on a trilogy right away.
so what album could make a good movie?
btw i love your avatar trebor.
| |
I'll buy the soundtrack if it's a Coheed and the Funky Bunch fusion band with Mark Wahlberg in his underwear on the cover.
| |
I'm a fan of the band, but the story isn't exactly the most compelling one I've heard. It doesn't need a movie.
| |
I quite like what I've read from the comics so I'll be interested to see how this plays out.
| |
people saying it will suck without knowing a single thing about the storyline. cool story bros
| |
I've only read SSTB in full, but I feel that would make a pretty great movie. And if they market this well enough it being associated with a 5 part progressive rock concept albums series is not going to matter to audiences.
| |
K so I don't want to be the guy who comes in and shits on someone's parade, but The Amory Wars is quite mediocre as a comic series/sci-fi tale thingummy. It's honestly one of the most one-dimensional things I've ever read. I'm really interested to know which studio picked it up and the upcoming screenwriters.
| |
With enough funding could be cool. If they don't entirely play it off as just a Coheed thing you might get a lot of interest from people who like sci-fi and cool shit but most likely it won't do that well. Having Mark Wahlberg involved just makes it interesting. If they get a few more names in there it may have a chance depending on who directs and whatnot.
| |
Huge levels of pretentia here, but good luck to them.
| |
Joss Whedon should direct this.
Firefly FTW
| |
Never expected them to take it this far, apparently Wahlberg is huge fan of the band, I'm sure he wouldn't mess this up. I'm guessing this film is going to have a Star Wars meets Fifth Element feel, I don't think it's going to be that serious, but should be an enjoyable and fun watch nonetheless. I wonder if they're having the whole series into one film, or make an actual saga?
| |
should be Gary Oldman
| |
Directed by Dario Argento.
| |
So there entire discography has been one gigantic concept album? Has anyone been following it? I wouldn't expect it to make much sense.
| |
I love the concept. I agree that it isn't the most original one, but it's an engaging one nonetheless. I really hope they have good people backing them on this one, but being the fanboy that I am I'll probably love the movie no matter what happens.
| |
Sounds pretty cool, hopefully it's good. I need to listen to these guys more, I dug quite a few of their songs a few years back.
| |
dan fogler will play claudio sanchez.
rofl
| |
Ok band, movie will most likely suck.
Peter Jackson or Joss Whedon could probably make it work though.
| |
My prediction (if it doesn't go straight to video): meh box office returns, mixed to positive reviews, short run. Becomes cult movie on DVD several years later.
| |
Diehard Coheed fans are creaming everywhere and reinking their Coheed tattoos with their own blood right now.
| |
Love this band, can't wait to see it. Really interested to know who's doing the script, and who will be directing though.
| |
This sounds like it has so much potential to be bad.
| |
you have the wrong number
| |
Holy fucking prog
| |
oh my yeeeeee!
fuck off haters
| |
thats badass
| |
They should get Takashi Miike to direct it, because then it would be a good movie, and be released in about two god damn months.
| |
needs Uwe Boll to make this even better than it already is.
| |
Idk, this could maybe be awesome, could easily blow though. Band rules anyway
| |
