Rob Zombie/Marilyn Manson Tour 2012-07-13 by Raul Stanciu STAFF | 44 Comments | Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson will co-headline the Twins Of Evil tour which is set to start in October and run through December, with dates in both US and Europe. The trio are also planning "theatrics" and "ghoulish imagery," with the stage set to include animatronic robots, pyrotechnics and fearsome film clips.
In a press release, Zombie had this to say about the tour: ""Finally! Why did the most obvious tour take so long to happen? Who knows? Who cares? It's happening now! That act must be really bad. I think he wants to be Skrillex now since he invented dubstep back in the 90s with Korn.
| | | gotta be the worlds gayest tour
| | | i saw marilyn manson at ozzfest like ten years ago and he put on a pretty good show. the entire crowd started this massive food fight. it was pretty hilarious.
| | | "The trio are also planning "theatrics" and "ghoulish imagery," with the stage set to include animatronic robots, pyrotechnics and fearsome film clips."
The music is gonna suck dick, but this sounds kinda fun actually.
| | | I would have gone crazy over this when I was 12.
| | | you were gay when you were 12 then
| | | Nah just full of that sweet teenage angst!
| | | Nah just these bands were decent back then.
| | | 'HAHAHA I GET IT BECAUSE DJ BACKWARDS IS JD AND SATAN ALWAYS SPELLS THINGS BACKWARDS'
Jonathan Davis = JD = J Devil
ffs
| | | This will look like an ICP show had babies with an anorexic mannequin.
| | | actually a very fitting tour tbh
| | | Zombie's Mars Needs Women video has some of the theatrics and animatronics he uses and it's really cool. Still, Manson needs to strengthen his performance as Zombie will be a lot better live.
| | | Zombie is fun live, but Manson is boring as hell these days. "J Devil" just seals the deal on how lame the whole thing is.
| | | why?
| | | And the world kept spinning as people everwhere didn't give a crap.
| | | Zombie puts on a good show.
meh
| | | J Devil was probably some faggy-ass nickname Jonathan Davis game himself.
| | | Zombie is pretty awesome but Manson? Not soo much. I see him as much more shock and awe than actually being a muscian. Upon reading this i imagained him actually pretending to be one of the animatronic robots while Rob was playing lol and JD joining doesnt add much to the show i think. Hellbilly Deluxe 2 was pretty cool.
| | | There can be no greater evidence that these two musicians write shitty music for shitty people than that they tour together.
| | | This would be a fun show to rock out to the singles and see the set designs.
| | | ...and yet this will make a shit-ton of money
| | | "I see him as much more shock and awe than actually being a muscian."
Manson's first four albums are much stronger musically than any Rob Zombie album. Rob Zombie is much more of a "shock and awe" and less of a musician than Manson.
Nevertheless, Zombie puts on a fun show now and Manson is pretty damn terrible live nowadays. And fuck Jonathan Davis.
| | | While Manson is practically a genious i dont understand the appeal of his music. Ive had most of his albums and have had a lot his songs come up on shuffle and i just cant bear it. Maybe you can suggest a really good album from him? The only song i have come to enjoy is "The Beautiful People" (of course) and one other that came upon randomly. But Manson has been known as the "freak" that makes kid do drugs and fuck their dog and whatever...and he does some weird shit on stage too.
Zombie really just wears makeup and likes to look like he got fucked up and have a lot of chicks stripping lol But yeah, JD is worthless.
| | | I would have gone crazy over this when I was 12. [2]
But my fucking mom wouldn't have let me gone. Fuck mom, I'll be in high school soon.
| | | ^this is awesome lmao
| | | Marilyn Manson I can understand but I feel like Rob Zombie is trying too hard to be all horror-esque and everything.
| | | Antichrist Superstar is where you should start with Manson. It has The Beautiful People on it.
| | | Would've been cool like 15 years ago.
| | | I kept reading Madonna on the front page and the first time on the article. I was like =0
| | |
that, in his own words, is "the Anti-Christ of EDM".
www.theatlantic.com/entertainment/archive/2012/07/buy-the-hype-why-electronic-dance-music-really-could-be-the-new-rock/259597/
| | | Probably not enough pop culture references for you to sink your teeth into
| | |
"J-Devil" ...really? so gay rofl
| | | I'm going to go for Jonathan Davis and that's it!!!!
| | | They should just let John 5 play the whole show. And just perform his solo material.
| | | Remember Zombie and Manson putting on really good shows about 10 yrs ago. Imagine this will be cool but not sure about the Davis project lol.
| | | Rob Zombie is a joke/hack, Manson used to be decent. Now theyre both awful so this tour is pretty garbage.
| | | Manson's newest album is awesome, and Zombie is sick live. I think other than that JD project this will be a good tour
| | | They're not coming here, awesome!
Davis needs to be quiet, metal/rock doesn't mix well and if you're just pressing play Deadmau5 will have to sue you for using his terms.
@Dev - cool looking article sir, will read later
| | | 1997 is stoked
| | | When I breathe you in 97
| | | Haven't seen either in my days, might go just to say I've seen em... and I can't imagine they would be that bad live... and if they are I can just get drunk and run around in a mosh pit.
| | | Born Villain was a great album but Manson is always too drunk or drugged up to play a decent show these days.
| | | gotta be the worlds gayest tour [2]
got some okay songs here the there but nothing I would pay to see
| | | I'm making my mom come to their show in Ohio.
