Another GNR Demo Leaks 2006-02-17 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 6 Comments | After the leak of a demo of the track 'I.R.S.,' a possible pick from Guns N' Roses' long-awaited album 'Chinese Democracy' on Thursday night, a second complete demo has surfaced, this time of the track 'There Was A Time,' or 'T.W.A.T.'
The track is another one that has been rumoured to exist for some time within the Guns N' Roses community, however today's leak is the first confirmation of this. It's believed the song is taken from a three-song demo CD sent to radio DJ Eddie Trunk some time in 2002. Trunk played a portion of 'I.R.S.' on his radio show but was asked to refrain from doing so in future.
The track itself is reminiscent of Use Your Illusions-era Gn'R featuring a synthesised string section, layered vocals and several blues-y guitar passages.
A third track is believed to exist from the CD: an 80-second clip of 'Better' was released late Thursday night.
