Trouble lose vocalist

2012-02-10 by Voivod STAFF | 16 Comments
Vocalist Kory Clarke (Warrior Soul) has recently departed from Trouble, the Chicago doom metal veterans, as during the four years of his participation in the band, little touring took place, while the prospects for a new record deal were discouraging.

Clarke's departure is related to the start-up of a new project with guitarist Russ Strahan (Pentagram), called The Bones of Children.

Voivod, it is true. Kyle Thomas is going to be the new vocalist, which I think is kickass because I dig the Thomas. I have been on a huge Trouble kick lately especially the older albums....I think he cover Eric Wagner's voice quite nicely

Good news, Clarke was a douche and Thomas is perfect for the job.

The Skull is fantastic indeed.

In my book, it is listed as the first "prog" doom metal record, should the work of Black Sabbath with Ozzy be excluded.

I have it on physical copy, may review it in time to come.

On another note, it is true that no one really dug Clarke as Trouble vocalist, even here in Hellas.

Hope Clarke get his gear going with Warrior Soul too.

I just read that Eric Wagner and the original bass player are starting a new band called The Skull. I am guessing Trouble may be doing the later Trouble stuff, and the other dudes wanted to do the old school Trouble sound. Personally, I would rather hear the old Trouble, but we shall see.

It really doesn't matter. I saw the band live with this singer and he isn't suitable for a doom metal band.
