Audioslave: Update on New CD

2006-02-14 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 9 Comments
Speaking to Launch Radio Networks, Audioslave frontman Chris Cornell had the following to say about the recording process for the group's forthcoming third album, due for release in June:

"It's just really gotten a little bit faster, I believe, and more efficient," he said. "We started out with the attitude that we wanted to just go into a room, the four of us, and write songs on the spot with everyone always there, and then also make our records that way. We started out doing that very well, and really what's happening is that the music stylistically is growing and changing, which it naturally will, but the process is really still the same."

The disc, the follow-up to 2005's 'Out of Exile,' is producing with producer Brendan O'Brien, who worked on the recording of albums by both Rage Against The Machine and Soundgarden.

Ah, I don't see how they can make a good album in less than a year.

I sure hope they get better with this. I wasn't a fan of Out of Exile.

There were a few songs on Out of Exile that were great. Perhaps if they waited longer, they could use the cut axe on the rest.

The first album was fantastic. I hated Out of Exile.
Since they said they are going into a different sound... I hope the sound goes in the right direction.

out of exile wasnt good. Though, i cant believe you guys arent supporting the fcat that there maing loads of albums, most bands are lazy goits, they release maybe every three years, i mean i would prefer two a year that werent great than one good one every three years. Also this measn there touring, so hopefuly they may play the festivals and tour in general, which is good.

Why would you want two bad CDs as opposed to one good one in the same time span? Are you really going to buy two crappy CDs that were churned out in a few months? I wouldn't. I'd go for the one with more time and effort put into it. But that's just me...

You guys are all retarded "I wan't an album with more effort and time put into it." Did you know that an album that took 5 years, could have just as much effort as one that came out in 1 year.

And is everyone oblivious to the 50's, 60's, and 70's when bands actaully made one or more cd's in a year. But I guess all those band's sucked. I mean look at the beatles, Sgt. Pepper, Magical Mystery Tour, and the White Album all came out within 2 years, and those are totally the worst albums they ever made *rolls eyes*

Same goes for the Stones! And Elvis, and Bob Dylan. So stop trying to say Audioslave aren't putting any effort into their music, if anything there the only band who's not being lazy, and actually "making" music like their supposed to.
