looking forward to this, haven't hated their recent stuff half as much as it seems most people do

Hopefully they have progressed beyond "meh".
|
| |
"full european tour" - no dates in Denmark - tour is obviously not "full"
|
| |
oh fuck yes
|
| |
hopefully this will be really good.

Always meaned to check these guys out. Maybe I"ll get around to it soon.
|
| |
im interested, but really they wont become elite until they get a new drummer
|

i quite enjoyed city of echoes. what we all come to need wasnt quite as good but it was good enough. and i agree about their drummer. its really hard to tell if he just isnt that good or if thats his style of playing. but either way i feel like their songs would fuckin kick ass with more creative/energetic drumming. they're fairly similar to russian circles musical style and their drummer kicks ass. he makes parts where the bass/guitar are not doing anything crazy/technical rule. anyway, im excited.

They seriously need a new drummer. A saw them live with Isis a few years ago and that guy was terrible live too. I even emailed them once about their drummer and they said he was a good drummer.

Her sex tape ain't bad.
|
| |
looking forward to this, even tho mouth of the architect dominates my sludge/post listens.
|
| |
"That was ridiculously shitty of you."
Maybe it was, but I was only trying to help them. This was like, 6 years ago though. I never outright said "Hey, your drummer sucks". It was more along the lines of I feel like your drummer is keeping you from being something great. You would think after this long of playing with them he would have gotten better, but he hasn't and it's strange.
|
| |
Yeah, they're pretty shit.
|
| |
lol why do you guys not get that he plays like that because it fits the music and it works well
yeah CoE might have been underwhelming compared to the stuff before it, but WWACtN is such a great improvement. Imo, if they continue and expand the idea WWACtN or even the Ephemeral EP was going with then I'll enjoy it.
and Pelican haven't been post-metal since Australasia FYFI

The drummer actually talks about all the bad press he gets in this interview. It's towards the end. He's been trying to improve since a certain Pitchfork review called him out on his drumming.
