A7X: New All-Star Tour/DVD

2006-02-14 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 17 Comments
Trendy rockers Avenged Sevenfold and Coheed & Cambria have announced a 31-date co-headlining tour of the US in April and May of this year.

Talking to MTV.com, Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates said: "We're the same kind of band. You either love us or hate us, so we definitely have that in common. And we believe there will be a crossover there between both our fans. It's not the same genre of music, but the same kids listen to us and them. You know, anything can completely flop and some things can work out perfectly. We're big fans of their music, and I think, from what we hear, they're into us. So, it just felt right. We'll have to see what happens."

If all goes well, expect the pair to take the tour outside of the US.

When asked about the group's possible upcoming DVD, Gates had this to say: "We're coming up with concepts right now, and just trying to figure out if we want to be a band with a DVD or not. We're talking to different people, but we're just thinking about what we want to do for it, if we want to do one. Hopefully, that will be available to everybody shortly, which would be out of control. We want it to be more us just hanging out as opposed to live footage. It should be pretty f---ing exciting."

When asked about rumours the band could be joining this summer's Ozzfest tour, the guitarist revealed that no offer had been made and the band could possibly be spending the summer touring abroad.

I've only heard a couple (bad) songs by A7X, and none by Coheed and Cambria, so I don't know why I'm posting here.

Man, A7X is good and Coheed and Cambria is really good. I'm not sure if they will work out playing together but you never know. They aren't the same kind of music, A7X being metal and CaC being rock.

It'll be a good show, regardless.

Sounds cool, except the DVD idea, I'd rather have live footage.

I agree with the live footage. I only buy live footage DVDs. I also can't wait for them to tour again. I didn't see them when they came through Dallas just because they were at one of those radio station festivals. I tried going to OKC or Austin but it just didn't work out. So, this tour would be more appealing to me, granted they come to Dallas. This Message Edited On 02.14.06

I hate both of the bands.(well I use to like A7X untill they went to MTV. Plus I dont think their newest album is any good.)
But I still think this would be a good idea.

Sounds like a good idea to me...I'm not hugely into C&C but I adored A7X's 'Waking The Fallen' album. Just a shame the vocalist lost his scream

i use to love Ax7 until i heard bat country, that loss of his scream hurt his music, but ironically i guess it helped the bands popularity.
Itd would be in interesting crossover, but if they come to florida anywhere near me ill definitely go there cause coheed and cambria=amazing!!! , itll even be sometime around my birthday in april, SWEET

Coheed and Cambria and A7X touring together sounds pretty cool. But a dvd? It seems like every band is releasing a dvd now days, and most are not live concerts. But apart from that, I look forward to the tour.

I actually think this is a solid combination. I'm not a huge fan of either band by any means though.

I dislike Coheed and Cambria, just couldnt get into their music (with the exception of the song Welcome Home, the only song by them ive liked). If I went to any of these shows it would be strictly for A7X since I missed a concert of them a few weeks ago cause of a swim meet

that sounds wicked, i love a7x, they are brill, i prefer it when shadows was screaming, but id much rather he sang and kept his voice, than scream and have no voice...zacky v...mwha! lol. coheed and cambria are really good to, his voice (dont know his name) is mental, its quite different, but good all the same.
