I didn't love Wasting Light as some did but every time they announce a new album I always hope I will like it.

Pretty big error in logic to think that so many people could enjoy a band based solely on a personality. If their music were shit and he was the only thing cool about them, they wouldn't have the longevity they have.

I just consider them very overrated for the type of bland radio rock they produce, their earlier albums were good, nothing special, yet i've seen very little criticism of them and I can't be the only one. To me, they're very middle of the road with nothing exciting to offer, just plain old foo fighters.

Wasting Light is insanely good for a commercial rock album, so this will most likely be at least great.

not every band exists to break the mold. Foo Fighters are what they are. Yes one can say they are Generic but that's what they do. They make accessible rock music and they do it well. If every band you listen to is insanely odd or far from the spectrum of the norm then you should probably look at yourself and consider the fact that you are trying to hard to be different.... P.S. comparing Nickelback to Foo Fighters is ridiculous and shows a low music I.Q.

Wasting Light was actually recorded the ol' fashioned way: analog. I wonder if they're going to do it again this time around. Wasting Light had a very distinctive sound and I'm sure the TREMENDOUS momentum the band has had this year will carry over to the song writing and recording of another excellent album.

They've had a hell of a year this year, haven't they? Damn...from "White Limo" with Lemmy to absolutely owning The Westboro Baptist Church in the best possible way, to that garage tour and the fan-made music videos and the 'Back And Forth' documentary and Joan Jett playing their concert and reuniting with their old producer...and, yeah, the album itself being their best since 'The Colour and the Shape'.

What a year for the Foo.
