This I gotta hear.
|
| |
Alright, well that was pretty bad. Not awful, but not good.
|
| |
vocals are immensely improved. Was okay, will probably be a 3.

they just can't get anything right. Album will be worse than the self titled.
|
| |
Why did i just listen to that?
|
| |
wasnt horrible, but wasnt great, if every song sounds like this, album will end up like a 2.8
|
| |
Funny how they all cut their hair short at the same time.
Song is pretty decent.
|
| |
they just can't get anything right. Album will be worse than the self titled.
Now that would be impressive.
|
| |
So am I the only one that can't help but see the album cover as two corpse penises?
|
| |
Song was average. Anything is better than that synthcore shit they were doing.
|
| |
They are some shitty screams right there.
|
| |
"So am I the only one that can't help but see the album cover as two corpse penises?"
Great, now that's the only thing I can see
|
| |
But I found the song quite enjoyable tbh.
|
| |
it's pretty bad, exactly what you should have expected from this fucking band
|
| |
look at that fucking picture for christs sake
guy in the middle looks like a right pleb
|
| |
"2:42
"I'm never gonna give a poop?" o.O"
haha dude totally!
|
| |
Ahhh I'm gonna have to wait to listen to this til tomorrow
I'm curious
|
| |
^sputnik is jumpin hate pretty fast, song isnt that bad, but its not good by any means
|
| |
djent
|
| |
The riffage sounds like Meshuggah. Only good thing about the song.
|
| |
They should do a full djent album. Maybe I'll actually enjoy this band that way.
|
| |
getting kinda sick off all these bands converting to djent. it's going to get old really fast.
|
| |
hipster
|
| |
Still pretty bad.
|
| |
garbage
|
| |
What is that guy talking about? Caleb Shomo is his real name. What does that have to do with Weezer?
|
| |
^he pretty much said 'shomo' is clost to 'cuomo'? idk either
|
| |
It's not that bad, but not anything special either.
|
| |
He's saying "I'm never gonna give up hope". /ruiningthejokeforeveryone
You know what, compared to their older stuff, I like it. I definitely like his cleans over that other Autotuned idiot's.
|
| |
Why are all these bands going from the 'scene' look to the clean cut look? It's annoying.
|
| |
I don't know. Trying to look like they're in the fifties is kind of gay. Regardless of appearance, this isn't that bad. Lose the synth, and I'll like it.
|
| |
Hardly anything on Rise is above average and I have a feeling this album will live up to that.
getting kinda sick off all these bands converting to djent. it's going to get old really fast. [2]
|
| |
riffs are a little better but vox have definitely gone downhill. not a fan of the chorus either but could be worse i guess
|
| |
Lol, if you're bagging on the vocals you've never heard the clusterfucks known as Someday Came Suddeny and their self-titled.
|
| |
I hate people who say that. Have they listened to PMtoday or Transit? Morons. Rise is a decent label.
|
| |
man overboard
DGD
emarosa
Sleeping With Sirens
rise has a few decent bands
|
| |
^I agree with all but Sleeping With Sirens, but that's only five bands on a label FULL of metalcore and post-hardcore bands that hardly separate themselves.
In mein opinion, of course.
|
| |
So they went from lolbad to meh?
|
| |
Did anyone else think that Caleb sounded like the singer from Fall Out Boy when he started singing?....
|
| |
Song was okay, not atrocious but not groundbreaking. Agree with comments about every band converting to 7/8 strings to try and be djent or groove.
|
| |
For the Fallen Dreams used to be pretty great until they started jerking it A Day to Remember
Now about the song, it's slightly better, but not a lot better.
|
| |
There is no musical direction that this band will try that will lead to any actual significance.
|
| |
thought this was the welsh rock band Attack! Attack! and was severely dissapointed
|
| |
Woah, this is surprising. Actually sounds okay.
|
| |
@andcas Yeah, Caleb has lost plenty of weight. Even if people don't like him they gotta admit he's making something of himself as far as being a musician and producer goes.
|
| |
Yeah holy shit, there be some cocks on that cover
|
| |
I liked it
|
| |
looks like the lead singer lost some weight
He pulled a Chino Moreno
But I knew they would somehow involve some sort of djent-like sound in their new material. Sounds good for now, but soon every metalcore band's going to be doing it.
|
| |
eh it's really not that bad. i'll definitely check out the album cuz i'm always curious, but the expectations will be set pretty low
|
| |
This band is so much fucking better with Caleb Shomo in charge of cleans, this is still pretty meh though.
|
| |
At least it's better then anything from their previous 2 records. Anyone else think it sounds like a heavier Amity Affliction?
|
| |
They should just stop using harsh vox all together and then they'd be listenable.
|
| |
i didn't mind caleb's original lowish vocals, but i dunno what the deal is with them being higher now and sounding more like typical rise screams
|
| |
user downxbeat your avatar legitimately scares me
|
| |
scary
|
| |
this song is just really generic and kind of boring. i hope they have some better ones on the album
|
| |
am i the only one that thinks this sounds like suicide season by bmth? cool that you're putting out music that came out 4 years ago and was boring even then
|
| |
BREAKDOWN NOT GOOD NUFF
z
|
| |
"That awkward moment at the end where it's silent and your waiting for a breakdown to happen .
H0lyTitz 1 hour ago "
Also, the song was catchy.
|
| |
The production was sexual. That's really it.
|
| |
Songs decent. Shomos is a pretty good vocalist. Based off the the lyrics they probably should have titled the album, Call of Duty: The album
|
| |
i agree that the production was pretty solid. i'm interested in seeing what caleb shomo is really capable of doing, as he seems like the only member of the band that has the potential to be onto something. he's a passable vocalist and his work on the production and electronics isn't bad...
|
| |
wow, not a single crabcore comment!
song was boring but not terrible.
|
| |
That wasn't too bad, but still nothing special.
|
| |
Bad song, but at least it wasn't as bad as that crappy synthcore shit they used to do.
Also, so many -core bands going clean cut and trying to look hipster.
*looks at TWDP*
|
| |
Checked it out of curiosity. Meh.
|
| |
Damn, this band just keep on changing don't it? But... get a better screamer, or keep it like this. Because this, I actually like. The instruments are pretty neat, best clean vocals they've ever had, but like I said, screaming couldbe improved a lot! But gonna check this out, because this is sounding promising. Unless it's like Like Moths to Flames, who had like... 1 good track on their latest album, which also was the first to be released to YouTube by Rise. I sure hope not!
|
| |
"am i the only one that thinks this sounds like suicide season by bmth?"
now I really wanna hear this
|
| |
"Anyone else think it sounds like a heavier Amity Affliction?"
Not really hearing it..
|
| |
This was surprisingly OK. Looks like crabcore may be a thing of the past.
|
| |
I miss the Someday Came Suddenly days
|
| |
singing isn't so bad. Neither is the screaming but the random yelling in between thing is really annoying.
|
| |
pretty boring
the beginning sounds kinda djent-y
|
| |
Yeah it's boring but the clean vocals are in many parts really great
|
| |
yaaawn me no care
|
| |
PMtoday is no longer on Rise because they broke up.
|
| |
I'm really not a fan of this type of screaming and he's not even doing it well. I really like the song though. If they're able to put enough variation (ballad, long song, etc...) into the record and pull it off, this could be a 3.5/4.
|
| |
Song titles on the album seem very... Memphis May Fireish.
|
| |
oh god those lyrics
I don't know what you guys are talking about this is still horrible
|
| |
Song actually wasn't bad at all, good for them. I love me some keyboards in metal a la Ensiferum and Arsonists Get All
the Girls, but the way this band uses them is just terrible
|
| |
"PMtoday is no longer on Rise because they broke up."
WHEN THE TIT DID THIS HAPPEN
|
| |
Sucks.
|
| |
lol they're using 7 strings SO BR00TAL
|
| |
this is good, you guys are idiots.
|
| |
It's pretty bad, son.
|
| |
how can you listen to that guitar-work and possibly think its even slightly decent? -_-
|
| |
Regardless of how good the song is, the cover is still two moldy penises.
|
| |
Their vocals sound awful.
|
| |
@DeathByDaydream
I'M GONNA WRITE THIS IS ALL CAPS SO PEOPLE WILL NOTICE IT.
I TRIED TO POST IT ON SPUTNIK A LITTLE WHILE BACK AND THEY REMOVED IT. I WAS CURIOUS AS TO WHEN THEY MIGHT RELEASE ANOTHER ALBUM, SO I WENT DIGGING. THEN FOUND SEVERAL SITES SAYING THEY BROKE UP IN SEPTEMBER. HERE IS A LINK:
http://lambgoat.com/news/view.aspx?id=16856
Also, if you look at Rise bands, they aren't there. Also, check wiki.
|
| |
Why did you post a link to an Atreyu song?
|
| |
i actually kind of like caleb's cleans, but his vocals were better when he was doing the for the fallen dreams-ish screams. but fuck, i didn't know pmtoday broke up
|
| |
this is weird. he sounds like brandon urie.
|
| |
dude you don't sorta hear that?
i mean the song sucks, and his cleans are doctored obv, but you don't pick up a little urie worship in there?? i definitely hear it
|
| |
It is an honor for both men to be compared
|
| |
lol
|
| |
whoever's producing this shitshow probably does
|
| |
I really miss pmToday
And this band really needs to die.
|
| |
ehh. Better, but still ehh
|
| |
academy! I thought he sounded like Brandon Urie too, it was my first thought!
|
| |
Holy fuck it actually does sound like Urie...
...who sounds like Stump
|
| |
I have no idea where you're getting that. Shomo wishes he could sing like him.
|
| |
Yeah I like Urie, he does not belong in this conversation with AA!
|
| |
"Based off the the lyrics they probably should have titled the album, Call of Duty: The album"
Not to mention the album art they stole from Black Ops. Still, can't wait to fuck shit up 1/26.
|
| |
cleans are better, really don't like caleb's screams
|
| |
cleans are better, really don't like caleb's screams
|
| |
that was preety much.. meh
|
| |
I'm seeing a lot of bands using a meaty tone. It does sound a bit djenty which is neat. hopefully it won't get old.
Also, the screams are pretty weak and remind me of spencer sotelo from periphery's self-titled on an impression level. Pretty boring, but the band surely doesn't sound gay anymore. Also, the 50's look can work for them, will not lie. Good for them, they also cut their hair.
