REJOIN DEP.

He's way too good for Coheed anyway.
|
| |
he's really good but he added virtually nothing to the band... let's be honest it's basically all claudio and travis anyway... don't get me wrong, Pennie is great, but Coheed was always too good for him
here's hoping for josh freese on the next record
|
| |
Coheed's looking pretty donezo
|
| |
they should get portnoy lolol
|
| |
The songwriters are still there so they should be fine
|
| |
here's hoping for josh freese on the next record
What is Coheed doing now anyway? Story is finished, yes?
|
| |
fuck. i was hoping him being in the band would push the band in a more technical and progressive direction. this sucks.
|
| |
technically the story was finished before the last one but it was still pretty great
|
| |
Too bad the singer didn't leave.
|
| |
Oh
|
| |
shouldnt make too much of a difference...
|
| |
Yeah I'm kinda wondering where Claudio plans to take the band next as well. Sucks about Chris Pennie though, monstrous drummer.
|
| |
whoa you're a contributor now?!
grats bitsh
all because of amaranthe i bet
|
| |
@pizzamachine
|
| |
thanks bro feels good
|
| |
@Deviant, the main arc was all tied up with the first four albums. Their newest YotBR was a prequel to it all. Claudio recently said the new album will be a pre-prequel. It's basically going even farther back to the creation of the universe and discovery of the keywork.
|
| |
sounds very nu-prog, will 5.
|
| |
chris pennie is too good for coheed anyways
|
| |
Things are looking pretty grim for Coheed, here's to hoping they can overcome it all.
|
| |
eh his talent was wasted on the band because they never even needed someone as good as him. probably for the best for both parties
|
| |
GET JOSHUA BACK.
|
| |
I think the day Claudio bails on it all is the day C&C are over completely.
|
| |
^
True. Claudio is the heart and soul of this band. Without him, it's all over...
|
| |
Bring back Eppard.
|
| |
chris pennie is too good for coheed anyways
u take that back
|
| |
Bring back Eppard. [2]
omg if only
|
| |
Their newest YotBR was a prequel to it all.
Yeah, I knew that
Claudio recently said the new album will be a pre-prequel.
That's just stupid
|
| |
"the main arc was all tied up with the first four albums. Their newest YotBR was a prequel to it all. Claudio recently said the new album will be a pre-prequel. It's basically going even farther back to the creation of the universe and discovery of the keywork."
The thing is that YotBR was still technically part of the planned story. It was always planned with their first 4 albums being 2 (Second), 3, 4.1, 4.2, then going back to 1 for YotBR. Seems a bit weak to go back even earlier to me, but whatevs. Band's pretty much had their run in my opinion. I'd love to seem them pull it out and make something awesome again but I think their days of making exceptional music is behind them.
|
| |
Time to rejoin Dillinger
|
| |
Bring back Josh! Bring back Josh!
I wish. I'd love to see the original lineup some day. Also, while Pennie is an amazing drummer, he really wasn't the right drummer for Coheed. Here's hoping the band makes an album at least as good as the first three.
|
| |
Good news though, is that apparently theyre pretty much done writing the next album.
|
| |
Pennie was fun to watch with Coheed live, and it's a shame he's leaving the band.
That said, yeah, they'll find someone just fine to fill his shoes.
Hell, Marco Minnemann auditioned for DT... I'd love to see him in Coheed.
|
| |
time for a new story arc......maybe that will generate something interesting, YOBR was a bore
|
| |
yo they writed that song about batman together; that was pretty
|
| |
so this nathan replacement on misfits... uh...
|
| |
r.i.p. chris pennie... good nite... sweet pprince...
|
| |
"they should get portnoy"
It they did I would jizz myself.
|
| |
Wouldn't be too surprised if they got Portnoy in, he is a big fan after all.
Also this is good news; I love Chris but he didn't sit well in the feel of the music on most of the last album, in my opinion.
|
| |
This is sad, but I know Claudio and Travis will bounce back.
|
| |
"the main arc was all tied up with the first four albums. Their newest YotBR was a prequel to it all. Claudio recently said the new album will be a pre-prequel. It's basically going even farther back to the creation of the universe and discovery of the keyword."
Sorry for the double post, but where was this statement found?
|
| |
coheed sucks hard, its about time pennie realized that
|
| |
Yeah I totally saw this coming. Didn't suit them, plus he's too good for them.
|
| |
he should get his ass back into Dillinger.
|
| |
he can stay faaaar away from dillinger imo. he's a great drummer but apparently there was so much tension between him and Ben. plus i think Billy has the potential to be as good if not better.
|
| |
I'ts already been said, but Pennie was far too talented for Coheed from the start. Not a knock on them, I love me some Coheed, but he was always a poor fit. I'm actually surprised he stayed this long. It's been a tough few months for them, but I'm sure Claudio will pull it together.
|
| |
thank god, he wasn't good for coheed. i hated his drumming on yotbr.
and yes, bring back eppard
|
| |
Oh well...their last record was terrible, anyways.
|
| |
rejoin dillinger rejoin dillinger rejoin dillinger
|
| |
This sucks. I hope they bring Josh back.
|
| |
bring back.......uh........Taylor Hawkins?
|
| |
I'm not worried. Claudio is the main guitarist, the singer, and the songwriter. It's always Coheed with him in there. All changing other members means is breathing a little new life into the background of his vision.
|
| |
bring back eppard and write some shit that sounds like sstb plz thx u claudio luv u
|
| |
I knew this wouldn't last. Pennie's too good for these boring asshats.
|
| |
too bad. drumming on yotbr was killer and refreshing compared to the last album.
i wanna hear an album all about al the killer. or that actually prominently features the co&ca characters. just don't say that you're adding to a story arc you knew years ago would end with the last album.
|
| |
He was a killer drummer. its a shame that he left
|
| |
chris pennie is too good for coheed anyways [2]
|
| |
It's not like he could go any higher in his career after leaving dillinger...
|
| |
The thing is that YotBR was still technically part of the planned story. It was always planned with

hey wait a minute how is that possible
|
| |
Seriously... @ everyone who said bring back Josh Eppard, I'm a drummer and though I'll acknowledge that Chris Pennie was technically pretty awesome, he added jack sh!t, whereas Josh Eppard was a HUGE part of the sound that I associated with Coheed before they became garbage. Every album since he left has been trash.
|
| |
coheed is terrible
|
| |
Does anyone have the drum track to Sugar Coated Sour?
|
| |
The creative differences thing is what worries me.
Claudio, you better be writing songs NOT in arrogant fashion!
But ffs probably is.
|
| |
He didn't shine like he deserved in Coheed. Better live than on album (YOTBR) but still to a minimum.
|
| |
