What exactly is Sesame Street for, in their opinion
|
| |
wish this band were still good
|
| |
Plan B was great, but this new stuff... eehhh
|
| |
Sounds like a rip-off of Closure in Moscow and Dance Gavin Dance...
Where's the originality man!?
|
| |
Howww is this song not awesome? Because they changed styles to a more Closure in Moscow-esque post-hardcore sound instead of having sax solos? Plan B was incoherent and a borefest. This is actually...you know, good.
|
| |
@gabe it feels more formulaic to me, idk. They did release one song i liked but can't remember the name
|
| |
hate whiny vocals so much
|
| |
pretty rad
|
| |
"Rip off of dance gavin dance"... I can't keep track off all these line-up changes from quasi-post-hardcore bands but isn't this the singer who took jonny's place in DGD?
|
| |
this band sucks now
|
| |
"i will love this album unconditionally and sputnik will tell me i'm wrong"
agreed.
|
| |
This is what DGD should sound like. Jonny Craig is good but Kurt Travis is better
|
| |
Aww man one DGD was enough.
|
| |
this song was like a 3.5/5
|
| |
You peeps should listen to the demo with Kurt Travis.

I thought Think Dirty Out Loud was pretty damn good.

|
| |
Don't think this sounds like DGD much at all.
Songs good, stoked as hell for the new album.
|
| |
When will people get over the fact that Kurt Travis was once in Dance Gavin Dance? This new stuff from ALLB doesn't sound much like them at all apart from the vocals, imo.
|
| |
"Howww is this song not awesome? Because they changed styles to a more Closure in Moscow-esque post-hardcore sound instead of having sax solos? Plan B was incoherent and a borefest. This is actually...you know, good."
Yeah, right. Why be original? Sounding like a Fall of Troy clone with horrible vocals is so much better. Just like Soulja is such a decent emcee.
|
| |
Not only does this song sound almost exactly like a Closure in Moscow track, Kurt sounds awkward on it. I loved him with DGD, and I really like Closure in Moscow and old ALLB, so this is coming from someone who should love this. The song itself isn't bad, but the complete lack of originality (for all but the jazzy guitar break) really ruins what merit the song has for me.
|
| |
The last song they released wasn't bad.
This is pretty goddamn boring though.
|
| |
Really loving this.
I can imagine myself listening to this album much more than i listened to Plan B.
|
| |
"Sounding like a Fall of Troy clone with horrible vocals is so much better."
Lol as if Thomas Erak was a good vocalist during his time in The Fall of Troy and this is coming from
an unabashed fanboy of that band. Kurt Travis > Thomas Erak. His screams were pretty awesome though.
Song is pretty good, can't wait for the album.
|
| |
kurt's style is much more influenced by closure in moscow/DGD than the fall of troy, and if you were talking about the guitar style its important to remember that hot cross was doing that kind of thing way before thom was.
this song was pretty good.
|
| |
it had loads of ambition and no follow through
|
| |
This song is great. I look forward to the next album.
|
| |
Sputnik is so weird lol. Song is awesome.
|
| |
A lot of annoying DGD fan-boys in the youtube comments.
|
| |
Many of this band's members came from the same screamo band, and everything that band did is better than everything this band has done.
|
| |
Oh, God Sputnik. If your opinions are worth anything, It's a good chuckle. : D
|
| |
Sounds not enough like Plan B and too much like DGD imo. Plan B was at least pretty unique... This... Eh.
|
| |
DGD is just a scene kids Hot Cross
|
| |
Song's pretty good, not as good as Think Dirty Out Loud though. Conversation Piece won't be as good as Plan B, but it's definitely going to be the best album Kurt Travis has ever been on.
|
| |
OMG NOT THE EXACT SAME STYLE AS THE LAST ALBUM. I'M PISSZED. FUCK ALLB, THEY SHOULD JUST GIVE UP.
|
| |
Conversation Piece is sounding more and more like a 3 star album. Plan B was a 5 for me (I ignored the samples when I rated, those were fucking annoying).
Kurt Travis should never have joined this band. I never liked DGD, and now they're invading one of my favorite bands.
|
| |
I haven't listened to this song yet, but I've already decided that I don't like the new clean vocals.
|
| |
This also means ALLB will suck live. Kurt's live vocals blow
|
| |
True statement Kurt does suck live. He only sounded good within the first year he was in DGD an just went downhill an has stayed there it seems.
|
| |
hmm, not bad. it definitely DOES sound like Closure in Moscow, but still good.
|
| |
Kurt killed it when I saw them. If he was ever bad he definitely got a hold of it and sounds awesome now.
|
| |
"Yeah, right. Why be original? Sounding like a Fall of Troy clone with horrible vocals is so much better. Just like Soulja is such a decent emcee. "
Except they don't lsound like Fall of Troy at all. Way to make shitty comparisons. Is any post-hardcore band that makes any mathy riff a FOT ripoff to you? I guess that makes Braids a Sonic Youth ripoff because, y'know, they have things slightly in common and one came before the other.
|
| |
it's definitely going to be the best album Kurt Travis has ever been on.
idk, Happiness was excellent
|
| |
lol this is an okay song. it got better near the end but it's whatever, compared to think dirty out loud at least. lawls thomas erak was an awesome vocalist... it was fun hearing him get better as albums went along. kurt is good, this album should be good enough at least. I agree with tkxxx7, happiness was an amazing album
@FilupLees
what band is that? discovery of a lifelong error or whatever?
|
| |
This sounds great, I'm really liking the style Kurt's singing with. A bit more interesting than when he was in DGD, although Happiness will be an album that's gonna be hard to top when it comes to his past records. Looking forward to this though
|
| |
I think this is a pretty good album. If you like them and have a few dollars: Donate to A Lot Like Birds' kickstarter, and if they reach their goal of $5000, they'll release a new song, "Orange Time Machines Care"! http://fcrps.me/Cq.1o0p
