Suicide Girls To Open For GNR 2006-11-11 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 7 Comments | According to SuicideGirls.com, the Suicide Girls burlesque group will replace Papa Roach as Guns N' Roses' support act for their Chinese Democracy North American tour. The girls will support the aging rock band until Christmas, beginning in Baltimore on Monday, November 13.
Guns N' Roses cancelled a performance in Portland, Maine last week over apparently irreconcilable differences with fire marshals. The band made non-specific claims against fire services, who were on hand to ensure pyrotechnical displays were safe and properly constructed, claiming that the behaviour of two named fire marshals could have put the safety of all in the venue in jeopardy.
In a rare statement posted on the band's website, Rose had the following diplomatic words: "The professionals around me felt that Portland was a potentially explosive situation that could have had a somewhat similar result based on the behavior of the two aforementioned fire marshals (it's not my first barbeque!) had the fans been given entry to the building and the show started.
"In respect of these opinions, our fans, the people of Portland, and the bands scheduled to play with us that night, unfortunately the only sensible decision was not to take that chance."
Coincidentally, two is also the number of people who believe him.
