Now THIS right here, THIS is what I want to hear from the new album. Awesome song, love the melodic guitar parts in the middle.
| |
Beat me to it. Pretty solid track, at least it's not Constellation #2 material.
| |
I'm liking this, clean section is neat
| |
August Burns Red has yet to dissapoint me.
| |
Definitely changed it up a bit
| |
I knew empire wasnt the best they got on this album
| |
now they sound like more like btbam with that salsa part. I guess it makes for an interesting progression from their past material.
| |
FUCKING awesome.
| |
O.O
| |
the beginning sounds like its straight out of a darkest hour song and then later they threw in these btbam parts. much more impressed with this than the first song they released. now i'm stoked.
| |
Stop comparing them to btbam.
| |
Good song. Looking forward to the album now.
| |
^ this (Specs comment)
great song tho
| |
Yeah, that salsa part is awesome. When I saw the tracklength it made me nervous that it was gonna just be another "to-
the-point" metalcore song, but this definitely shook things up a bit. It proves that they can do something different even
with a 3 minute song. I hope they're gonna do some more long songs with a "post metal" feel too.
Edit: Well, I guess it's a 4 minute song, but whatever.
| |
Bad solo, but overall the song was great. I was really pessimistic after that first track they released, but this really turned my hopes around.
| |
Song rocks and rolls, really good
But damn, I totally agree they should not play or write guitar solos in their music
| |
Damn, this is impressive. I want this album so bad now
| |
holy shit this is awesome.
the clean part is really fucking good.
| |
@A7XEric I've been really pessimistic after hearing any song that Avenged Sevenfold has ever released.
| |
I think I'll pass on this album, haven't thought much of the two singles from Leveler. Much better Metalcore bands in the woodwork.
| |
this has given me everything i've wanted this album to be so far.
i didn't want a constellations or a messengers part 2, and this really doesn't sound like either. i'm satisfied.
| |
Impressed.
| |
I kinda like the first song better. But i really like both. This new one is different which is nice.
| |
check out the live videos of poor millionaire too. i think i'll like it better than this one.
| |
@ po0ty Is that the song that they have been playing live for the last month or so?
| |
"Finally, we threw in one of the original midi tracks from the Leveler writing process to give everyone an idea of how our songs sound before they get recorded. It's pure 1988 Nintendo bliss.""
probably excited for this the most.
| |
I just coughed up a hairball. This song is exactly what I wanted from them. And is one of the lyrics "This song is music to my ears"?
| |
Ok, I dug this.
| |
good song. i like the solo parts. i think it's better that the other song they released.
| |
Another OK song from Leveler. Sheesh, album sounds really underwhelming so far.
| |
i really liked that and i'm generally not a fan of these guys
| |
ooooo sweet I like the change
| |
Jason Suecof can burn in fucking hell. Other than that I like the song.
| |
"There are a bunch of chickens in the foreground who have come out of hiding to continue on with their daily activities."
fucking lol'd hard
song is good.
| |
Awesome avatar whywontyoudie
| |
thanks spec, been on a massive Hey Arnold kick for a while
| |
^^^Hey Arnold is my entire childhood in a nutshell.
song is soooooooo good, i like it that they are getting better and better with each album
| |
liking it and am looking forward to the album. why is everyone hating on jason suecof though? i've heard people talk about how his production jobs are terrible but this sounds ok to me.
| |
I just watched a live video of Poor Millionaire on Youtube and WOW, that song sounds incredible.
| |
His production on Constellations was shit, but this is sounding a bit better.
| |
The beginning is a rip off of Deliver Us by Darkest Hour.
| |
dude your right poor millionaire sounds ridiculous
| |
Really good. Expanding their sound a bit and it feels pretty natural.
| |
Every metalcore song is a rip-off of another metalcore song. Get over it.
| |
Except Horse The Band.
| |
0_o this song is amazin. Can't wait for album to drop! Gotta get my ABR trading cards!
(p.s i saw them preform poor millionaire, they brought down the roof)
| |
Average Youtube comment. ^
| |
Except Horse The Band.
Well, all Nintendocore bands are basically just generic metalcore bands but with sound effects from random NES games thrown in.
| |
There's other Nintendocore bands?
HTB's older stuff is pretty generic, but Desperate Living is not so generic.
| |
Really enjoyed that.
| |
This sounds really different and better than the first song. But still not totally pleased.
'Poor Millionaire' sounds like it's going to be my favorite ABR song though.
| |
Looking forward to this album
| |
Well hello there!
| |
Insane
| |
A mighty fine song! I'm stoked.
| |
I enjoy this. Now they have written 2 songs in the course of their career.
| |
horse the band wins metalcore.
| |
They transcended metalcore.
| |
This was beastly!
| |
this is really cool.
| |
These guys are the only metalcore band ive seen 3 times, they put on an AMAZING show. (crowd, performance, sound - all good)... Granted they do mesh into the rest of their genre sometimes, im glad to see them evolving even if its just a little bit.
People may say oh wahh metalcore... put 'messengers' on your ipod and go run/lift... if you dont get a hugeee shot of adrenaline during 'Up against the ropes' or 'backburner' something is wrong with you
| |
I just read that one of the bonus songs on the special edition cd is an acoustic version of this song.
| |
This song is the acoustic one.
| |
Wow, this doesn't suck that much
| |
They transcended metalcore.
HORSE transcended all limitations of mere mortals. Proof: Earth Tour DVD.
| |
Its not the acoustic one
| |
what the hell is this salsa bit
i hope this grows on me
| |
Salsa? What the hell are you guys talking about?
| |
That's definitely not salsa, more like flamenco, a really poor attempt at playing flamenco.
| |
Listen to the song. Explains a lot
| |
Internal Cannon is the acoustic one.
Wiki that shit.
| |
There is a regular and an acoustic. I just looked it up
| |
That's what I was sayin'
| |
The 1st "interlude" was a bit BTBAMish, which means completely different from the song and not integrated in the song :-/ the 2nd transition to clean had a better flow. Nice to see that they brought in some experimentation, was a bit disappointed after the 1st song
| |
"Salsa? What the hell are you guys talking about?
That's definitely not salsa, more like flamenco, a really poor attempt at playing flamenco."
Well, okay, Mr. Know-It-All. I guess the rest of us just aren't as knowledgeable of Spanish music genres as you.
Also, your avatar applies more to you than anyone else in this thread, so CALM THE FUCK DOWN.
| |
This is so fucking good. The album wait is killing me.
| |
This is what I'm talking about. Fuck yeah ABR. I'm glad they're expanding as musicians.
| |
Song is pretty wild. I also disagree with the negative comments towards the solo. I thought it fit well with the song and was generally quite good.
| |
Love it.
| |
YES AN AUGUST BURNS RED GUITAR SOLO!
Oh wait, they're kind of lame at this point. That being said, the rest of the song is quite nice.
| |
Intro riff sounds like some other song I heard
| |
Deliver Us
| |
That's the one
| |
whatever happened to August Burns Bread?
| |
changed his name to east hastings
| |
new song is fantastic, like it a lot more than empire. Its great to see ABR stretching their sounds to new boundaries and they are willing to try new things. New album is definitely looking promising.
| |
awesome track. love it. abr never disappoint.
| |
@Ire- then what happened to him afterward? i remember seeing both when i first made a profile.
| |
didn't really care for their past works aside from Composure, but this song was pretty decent.
| |
you all best not be klownin around. Btw song shreds
| |
So... whats wrong with Jake's vocals?
The salsa moments were brilliant. The writing in the heavy section seemed rather lazily pasted together, bu the softer sections were quite amazing, I must say.
| |
Sputnik approves.
| |
much more interesting than the first song they put up.
| |
They literally define metalcore. So good.
| |
that was amazing.
| |
Pretty good...they have kept it to 2-3 breakdowns per song so far as opposed to 30 breakdowns per song
| |
ABR is single-handedly keeping me interested in metalcore.
| |
Yessss this is so much better than empire. My hope in this album has been restored. I don't get why people don't like the solo. Is it impressive? No. But it does flow well with the song and add to it well.
| |
this is what i wanted
| |
Sounds like they took a page out of Colors...and I love it.
| |
liked it quite a bit.
| |
I knew they were holding back. Didn't enjoy Empire nearly as much as I enjoyed this.
| |
actually amazing
| |
so very very good :D
| |
So that was actually pretty decent.
| |
Empire is a drag compared to this.
But the solo is like gone stale..
| |
also the solo reminds me of an old radio cassette suddenly fast forwarded.
| |
Really good song. This thrash/metalcore combo stuff is the only thing keeping me interested in Metal. That and BTBAM
| |
song is weird as fuck, they could have done something better with that ''salsa'' idea they had
| |
Definitely more interesting than the first track they put out.
| |
i don't see this album exceeding a score of 3.5 tbh
| |
"i don't see this album exceeding a score of 3.5 tbh"
From you personally or its overall score? If you're talking about the overall score, I think it's going to stay at around a 3.8/3.9.
| |
Sorry to spam, but can you stream the entire Life On Repeat album on grooveshark? Just wondering.
| |
@eulogize that sounds about right for an overall score. Judging by peoples reactions so far it may be a little higher
| |
Solid track, no doubt. I'm reeeeaaaally looking forward to this record.
| |

Previews of every song on the new album. Go listen while its still up.
| |
Wow that album preview made me very happy. 40 Nights sounds pretty sick.
| |
Those song previews rock. Carpe Diem, Salt And Light, and parts of some of the other songs sound great.
| |
I can't wait to purchase this!
| |
Such a sick song. I really hope they pursue more of the BtBaM influence throughout the album.
| |
coulda replaced that solo with a breakdown imo
| |
No more breakdowns please.
| |
They're previews from Amazon so I can't see why they would take them down... who knows
| |
Wow this album is going to fucking rule face.
| |
No more breakdowns please.
You're gonna want to listen to something else.
| |
OMJ! This is ABR at its finest! Their maturity in writing everything has improved so much!
| |
I would really like this if it wasn't so obvious they were ripping off BTBAM.
| |
As per usual, the lyrics were typical ABR. As in boring.
But the instrumentation seems to have improved. Hopefully this new album merits a full listen through.
| |
such a great metalcore band. it's awesome to see so many BTBAM references regardless of whether they are relevant or not. ABR keeps my undying breakdown boner alive and throbbing, and any time someone compares you to BTBAM you should thank them endlessly
| |
who said btbam
ew btbam
| |
Yep, Internal Cannon is definitely better than Empire. After Empire was released I feared for the worst in Leveler, but this somewhat reassured me.
| |
