There was a news article about this a few days ago, guess it got deleted.
New album is basically just Brandon Boyd. Seriously, would have been better as a solo project because the rest of the band really isn't doing much at all.
This is essentially the heaviest song.

i've only heard two songs off the album and both sound very... frankly, they're boring, and i'm very lenient on Incubus because i really like them... even Light Grenades.

They're there.
I've listened to it several times in the past few days, they're really not doing anything interesting. Mike will have a few pleasant licks thrown in on occasion but it all sounds so flat to me. Brandon Boyd's performance is excellent, but it is not an Incubus record. Adolescents is really the only song that resembles any of their other full lengths at all, though Defiance does remind me of Make Yourself slightly now that I think of it.

It doesn't objectively suck, it's just not Incubus. It's Brandon Boyd. Luckily he's a good song-writer and we wind up with 11 good pop songs.

pretty cliche chorus which is a pitty because even though the versus melody seems strangely memorable its good and the break is strong especially when the high octave pitched vox come in.

Yeah Isadore is probably my favorite on the album too. I enjoy most of the songs honestly. But I can't give it higher than a 3/5.

Yeah, a 3/5 seems to suite the new album well... after one listen. Maybe it'll grow on me.
The first track is amazing, the second one is very enjoyable, "Thieves" has some interesting lyrics and I dig "In The Company Of Wolves", but besides that nothing else really stood out to me. It all kind of blended together, which isn't a good sign.

Yes absolutely. Even if they don't though, these guys have yet to make awful music, they may just not make stuff up to the level of S.C.I.E.N.C.E. anymore.

i dont think incubus will be going back to there old days, every cd they have brang out is totally different to the last. i dont realy care if the whole albums slow, i listen to too much metal nows days anyways. plus brandens voice is just magic

It doesn't suck at all... unless you don't have a taste for a slower, more bluesy style of rock. Then it might bore you.
Not every song is amazing, but the 2-3 that are amazing will blow you away.

It's not really bluesy at all...for the most par it's straight up pop.
In the Company of Wolves is interesting.
