Some pretty cool stuff.

TMV will probably stand out like dog's bollocks in this line up.

Lineup is OK, but guaranteed to be fucking ridiculously expensive.

I think it's somewhere between $400-$500 for the 3 days & camping.

There's some good stuff in the lineup (I say that without checking the link though)

Yeah, I'll be giving that the big 'Thanks, but no thanks' Davey. I could think of many, many things I would rather do with $500, plus food, plus booze, plus flights/petrol, plus weed, etc. Looking at a minimum of 1000 fun tickets for 3 days. Fuck. That.

that lineup already looks incredible and I haven't even clicked the link. God damnit why is every major festival better than Sasquatch this year? The Sasquatch organizers better come through on those "huge surprises" they promised.

eh, most of the good bands are mentioned here. Regina Spektor though, she rules live. I don't know that this festival is worth the suggested 400-500 dollar ticket price though, even though I'm not 100% certain what that is in Canadian dollars.

AU$500 = CAN$503.691

so the exact same. I think I can do that math. $500 x 1/1

hold on give me a minute

ok so like 500 CDN dollars.

yah that's too much money for that festival. Really nice lineup though.

That's too much money for ANY festival. Plus, you have to factor in that Woodford, Queensland is in the middle of Bum Fuck Nowhere and will cost probably half the face value of the ticket for 95% of attendees. Ticket pricing is a major problem in this country.

Needs to be in the middle of bum fuck nowhere to cater for the size of some of the egos on the lineup.
A big meh to this from me but I am hoping like hell DJ Shadow does a national tour would love to see him

my reaction to the lineup listed on this page: "okay i guess"
my reaction to the full lineup: "oh shit i have to go to this somehow"

but still goddamn that is expensive as fuck. also is it me or are australian festival lineups getting progressively worse over the years?

That's £320 GBP... That's silly money, no matter what the lineup.

even though it is only a half hour from me i dunno if ill go.. so expensive, especially for a uni student, think ill get on the piss at the brisbane horse racing carnival instead.

i have the same feeling spare, felt they are getting much worse, esp. BDO.

this year's soundwave was also especially bad compared to previous ones

I would prefer less festivals with better lineups, every time i turn around there is another festival going on, heaps in Victoria

"this year's soundwave was also especially bad compared to previous ones"

Gotta disagree with that, it was a fantastic day this year.
Although I agree with the 'less festivals, better lineups' sentiment.

who are you and where do you live?

(concerning soundwave) imo these are the best bands from past lineups:

07: deftones, thrice and as tall as lions.
08: thursday, the fall of troy, mewithoutyou.
09: nine inch nails, dillinger escape plan, horse the band, minus the bear, attack in black
10: faith no more, sunny day real estate, rx bandits, the weakerthans, glassjaw, meshuggah, the get up kids, isis
11: queens of the stone age, iron maiden, coheed and cambria, the gaslight anthem, protest the hero, slayer (who didn't play sydney apparently)

tbh 11 doesn't stack up to most of the others. i mean i like a lot of the bands there, but i don't love them. but ahwell
