It's a good album (although I've never heard their older stuff). The link for this stream has been on the sputnik news since Monday, but I never thought about making a seperate news story about it.

Not bad at all. It's miles better than Midheaven, although the cleans rub me the wrong way.

Album has disappointment all over it as compared to Nocturne, but a vast improvement from Midhaven, which isn't all that much of a stretch.

Actually not impressed, skipped Midheaven so I was expecting huge increase up from Nocturne.

This album adhears to what I am dubbing the "Recovery Effect". It basically states that as long as a bandartist releases a mediocre/above average album after their worst album they will receive critical praise.

See Also: Recovery, Death Magnetic, My Dark Beautiful Twisted Fantasy

Jokes aside. I actually really like this album. It's infinitely better than Midheaven and on par for Nocturne although definitely different.

Check out Nocturne, skip Midheaven. That's really all you need to know.

Besides some of the clean guitar parts and more experimental sections, this album was kind of boring to me. Nocturne had a good amount of variety in sound and this album, while the ideas weren't bad..parts just dragged on.

I don't know how many "cool" variations you can make of palm muted chug like sections with cool guitar work in between to carry a song..which is surprising, because I expected a lot less of that considering the band; and the vocals only added to that monotony in that regard, though weren't bad themselves.

title track is off the chain other than that is kinda bland especially in the singing sections. still an entertaining album though

Wow...Midheaven was far from anything home to write home about and it doesn't have the catchiness of Noctourne, but I think Malmsteen's out of a job!

So I really enjoyed this album. You can really feel them moving away from the metalcore aspect of their music and move into more of a progressive metal. BTW, vocalist sounds indistinguishable from Between the Buried and Me's at times. I did a side by side thing, it was kind of eerie.

I think this album actually gets worse the more I listen to it. I think tracks 1-4 are super strong though. I think new Scale The Summit, The Famine, and Lower Definition have been better this year so far but I still think this CD is really good. 'Antebellum' is my least fav track.
