New Queen Material In The Works?

2006-10-25 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 12 Comments
Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed the group is working on new material with singer Paul Rodgers, with a possible album to come if all goes well.

In a posting on his official website, May commented: "Roger and Paul Rodgers and I have been in the studio the last few days working on NEW NEW NEW material ... quite an occasion really. Apart from our excursions with Dave Stewart for Nelson Mandela a couple of years back (most of which never got heard) this is our first QUEEN new recording session for about 15 years.

"It may turn into an album ... it may lead elsewhere, but right now we are HAVING FUN! And ..... it sounds pretty amazing to my ears ... very different from anything Paul or Queen have ever done. And pretty epic!!"

Independently, there have been rumours, Launch Radio Networks reports, that all four members will enter the studio later this fall to record material.
Wait didn't The Black Parade come out yesterday?

Oh wait my mistake sorry.
Saw that coming.

They can just recruit Matt Bellamy for the next Freddy Mercury.

Queen-Freddie Mercury=No Queen

Matt Bellamy as singer would be quite fun, though... hmmm.

paul rodgers did help to write a lot of queens songs though, so even though it wont be queen as we know them (i.e. with freddie) its better than them picking up some random guy to sing for them, or god forbid it, pick a new frontman through a tv show.

i kinda enjoy queens music in passing, never been too fanatic, but it's mostly good, and i'd be interested to hear this.

I can onlyhope that if they put out a new album it's as anthemic and kick ass as the rest of Queen's music. I agree that Paul Rodgers would be the "perfect" guy to do Queen justice, but it will never be the same as with Freddie Mercury.

I'm hoping someone keeps us updated on this because its's pretty kick ass shit.

The one who called The Black Parade similar to Queen have never heard a Queen song in his/hers entire life.
