Periphery announce new EP

Maryland progressive metal outfit Periphery will release the Icarus Lives! EP on April 19.

The Icarus Lives! EP consists of re-recorded versions of four songs: 'Icarus Lives!' 'Jetpacks Was Yes!' from 2009's Periphery and bonus tracks 'Captain On' and 'Eureka.' The EP also includes a brand new recording entitled 'Frak the Gods,' an instrumental and various remixes.

The band have also revealed that they will enter the studio later this year to record their second full-length album.

I completely disagree Nomos, the way the industry works today artists have to constantly have their
name in the limelight so they don't fade off, great example is how Gaga kept on releasing highly
anticipated music videos so her name kept on being out there. I like hearing a sample of new stuff
instead of waiting 2-3 years for an LP.

Actually, I'm pretty sure that they have a good chunk of their next LP done. If I'm not mistaken, it's going to include the long anticipated Juggernaut concept.

I can't wait 'til they stop milking that song. Icarus Lives is probably their weakest, least interesting song.

Periphery's self-titled was a let down in regards to Bulbs potential/past work. Sort of hoping these futures release[s] do something fresh.
