New Fall Out Boy Record Soon

2006-10-12 by Stormy Smiley Face | 32 Comments
Fall Out Boy is nearing completion of the follow-up to their widely popular 2005 record, "From Under The Cork Tree." Pete Wentz (bassist and usual representative of the pop-punk band) says they've recorded 14 songs (so far) and the new album will hopefully be out soon.

The new album would probably be out by now if it hadn't been for the band's label, Def Jam, Pete commented several months ago, but wouldn't give any other details because he feared getting in trouble with the label.

Something Pete thinks will surprise fans is the addition of guitar solos from special guests, but says they'll be done differently than most bands.

Pete: "We tried to make it a bit different than the way we used guests on "From Under the Cork Tree." We felt like rock bands have kind of neglected the guitar solo, at least in our genre. So we had our friends (New Found Glory guitarist) Chad Gilbert and Ryan Ross (Panic! At The Disco guitarist) both play guitar solos on a song. But it won't be what you expect.

Some titles of the fourteen songs already recorded and produced by Neal Avron are 'Hum Hallelujah', 'I've Got All This Ringing in My Ears And None On My Fingers' and 'The Carpal Tunnel of Love.'

To close, Pete also alouded that the label will have the finished record by Halloween. Will the band dress up when they give it to the label? If they do they should go dressed as story scouts.

If they do they should go dressed as story scouts.

Why would anyone want to be a story scout?

I'm interested in hearing this.

No thank you, I don't think the world needs another Fall Out Boy album. Can't we all just say "no, thanks?" Maybe they won't put it out if we all ask nicely.

I really dislike FOB. Why would they invite guitarists from NFG and Panic to play guitar solos?

Anyone who's listened to a NFG record should know Chad Gilbert can't play solos. Or play.

Why are they getting other bands guitarists to do their solos? Are they not capable of doing them?
