Sorry James, still not going to buy your records.
Nice try, though.

teh fa?
|

Reports that most people would rather have suffered through a war than ever heard his music are, as yet, unconfirmed.

Saw this on another site. This takes self-publicity to another level...
|
| |
how is this news?
|
| |
lighten up
this is awesome
|
| |
|
| |
"Reports that most people would rather have suffered through a war than ever heard his music are, as yet, unconfirmed."
Yeah, not biased at all.
|
| |
Hahah. Oh my.
|
| |
I still can't picture James Blunt as a soldier without laughing.
|
| |
I just google image'd it and was disappointed. Stick to the imagination.
|
| |
GENERAL SIR MICHAEL JACKSON
|
| |
I thought they didn't allow gays in the military.
OH SNAP!

He's actually a swell guy. Shame his music is cock
|
| |
This is my number one radio hit You're Beautiful. There are many like it but this one is mine.
|
| |
This guy's pretty funny on the UK BBC panel shows, got more time for him now I've seen his sense of humour. Bit of a lad really! Shame about his oestrogen-fest music though.
|
| |
This news?
|
| |
yes.
|
| |
Couldn't the general just have told the Russians to beat it?
Sorry, couldn't help it.
|
| |
GENERAL SIR MICHAEL JACKSON [2]
|
| |
Would have rather had WWIII then heard his music.
|
| |
He takes the piss out of his music in interviews and is actually pretty funny. His music is some of the worst ever heard by humanity though.
This story is brilliant, even without the whole michael jackson thing.
|
| |
Lol I read this on my phone not long ago
|
| |
yeah quiet a funny guy ..saw him on Top Gear
|
| |
hahaha no.
|
| |
Whether it's true or not is irrelevant. What matters is that he still does shitty music.
|
| |
What idiot gave him a gun?
|
| |
I wonder if that event was the inspiration for "You're Beautiful."
|
| |
one hit wonder just trying to get some recognition
|
| |
I saw the Hurt Locker yesterday and I can't help but wonder why Mr. Blunt never went back.
|
| |
What idiot gave him a gun? yep cos hes a shit musician he must have been a shit officer prior to that right
|
| |
right
|
| |
no
|
| |
XD
|
| |
oh this is that beautifaaaal guy
|
| |
He's got a new album coming out and he just happens to mention that he saved the world. Interesting.
|
| |
Sorry, are we supposed to be grateful that James Blunt is a terrible soldier? Shit music AND a shit soldier? Bravo James.
|
| |
funny shit haha
|
| |
lolwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut?
|
| |
What in the actual fuck?
|
| |
He's given up music and gone into comedy
|
| |
Haha, what a guy.
He's a fantastic musician as well; insanely talented lyricist and composer.
|
| |
lolwuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut? [2]
|
| |
I guess I'll be the only sincere sputniker
Thank you, James.
|

Hey James! You're beautiful!

He was with NATO, so yeah, duh

PLEASE, MEN, WAR IS NOT THE ANSWER
|
| |
i am doubtful
|
| |
Tbh I really like Jame Blunt as a person, and his first album had a few good songs too. Probably stretching his career a bit far now though.
|
| |
He has been the one, he has been the one for me.
|
| |
I can see this as some awful, awful movie.
|
| |
I can believe him saving the world, but having a few good songs? That's just mental.
|
| |
I could have easily taken the Russians. FALCON PUNCH!
|
| |
sounds made up...
|
| |
This is my number one radio hit You're Beautiful. There are many like it but this one is mine.
Lol'd
|
| |
This seems like a joke to me.
|
| |
LOL
|
| |
I'd already heard this story before, and sure he might exaggerate the issue a bit (seeing as the Cold War was well and truly over by then and Russia would never have risked a war), but everyone is a bit harsh on him. He did a good thing *shrug* And he's proved elsewhere he's a genuinely nice guy and pretty funny too.
So his music is insanely soppy and crap (well, I actually like a bit of his first album but stfu), don't see how that affects the rest of it.
|
| |
This story still gets me.
He must of been hiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-iiiigh!
|
| |
""Reports that most people would rather have suffered through a war than ever heard his music are, as yet, unconfirmed."
Yeah, not biased at all."
its a joke man - and a fine one at that :D

YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!
|
| |
JAMES BLUNT IS THE FUCKING MAN
|
| |
Interesting if true.
|
| |
legarette blount AAAAAAAAAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH BABY!
|
| |
it's been said a few times on this thread, but the guy seems genuinely cool and funny if interviews/tv appearances etc. are to be believed. and this is a pretty awesome thing. he can hardly be accused of publicity-making if it's over a decade since the incident in question happened. frankly, had anyone else done this, people would have been congratulating them.
my ex was really into his first album (her "guilty pleasure"), and from what i heard of it, it was only "beautiful" that was actually insultingly bad. the rest was just so innoffensive and bland that i couldn't remember how a song went a few seconds after i'd heard it, but there's far worse out there.
|
| |
Good one Puzzles! Haha, this is so BS!
|
| |
Oh and by the way,
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4WWJH61DKJI
this is one of my favourite live videos ever. Dunno why.
|

Yeah, James Blunt is a great guy alright.
"Sir, I want to put my hand up in support of Lily Allen (Thunderer, Sept 16). She’s asking British musicians to galvanise over a serious crime: the death of a great British industry — our music business.
The world over, people are stealing music in its millions in the form of illegal file-sharing. It’s easy to do, and has become accepted by many, but people need to know that it is destroying people’s livelihoods and suffocating emerging British artists.
The music business is made up of thousands of jobbing musicians, producers, mixers and engineers creating and shaping popular music and culture, but illegal file-sharing is cutting off the income from their work. Without the revenue from established artists, record labels cannot fund emerging musicians. They’ll just re-master the Beatles albums again, because they can’t afford to put an amazing new band into a studio to record something that may surpass Sergeant Pepper.
At long last the Government is looking to legislate to protect the industry. Peter Mandelson is looking to engage the internet service providers who, in my opinion, handle stolen goods, and should take much more responsibility. How this legislation pans out, and if it goes through at all, is critical to the survival of the British music business; critical to thousands of jobs; and critical to our ability to nurture and develop great musicians and the songs and albums that we would hope to listen to in the future.

How many people on this board have actually heard anything this guy has done apart from 'Beautiful?' .
Cuz his second album is actually pretty good
|

James Blunt's music is cancer. It's a plague, and sputnik is the cure.
