GC's Response 2006-10-03 by ToWhatEnd | 8 Comments | There sure is nothing like pop punk drama, upon visiting the band's myspace page their entire about me is devoted to responding about their ex-drummer's statements.
"A lot of you have seen the postings this week by our former drummer Chris Wilson, and we wanted to let you know what our feelings are and what the truth really is. Chris is saying that we..ve cheated him out of money that he felt he deserved, but that..s not true. Chris was well-paid for drumming for us but he did not write the songs with us, so he..s not included in the songwriting royalties-this is something he knew all along. We do feel badly if he mismanaged the money he made while playing with our band. He also posted that we tried to prevent the band Over It from being part of the Snakes On A Plane soundtrack. This makes no sense, as we have been friends with the guys in Over It for years now. Chris is also accusing us of withholding his gear, which is untrue. During the time Chris played with our band he was going through ..personal health problems.. and we insisted he go to rehab in the hope he would get better, so we made the arrangements and advanced him the money. We really don..t know what to make of this since we had a good conversation with Chris recently, even after he threatened to sue us earlier this summer. All of this really saddens us as we did our best to help him and to protect his reputation and privacy."

I think both sides are at fault, but both wanna look completely innocent.
| | | Notice how well thought out and put together the letter is. Well, that goes to show you the difference between living in a van, rambling away at a laptop and having your publicist cover your rich ass for you at any given moment. Quite an interesting turn of events, but seriously, give the man back his drum kit!
| | | I agree, both sides are probably bending the truth. I'm sure theres some truth to what Chris said, but I dont buy some of the stuff he said like "they practically forced me to sign a contract saying i wont make any money."
| | | From our perspective it's impossible to tell who is right or wrong. We might as well sit back and enjoy the soap opera.
| | | If i were this drummer, I would be happy that no one knew that I was ever in Good Charlotte...
In other news, why don't they just give him some money? They're rich enough, and if he needs the money they should give it to him, since they used to be friends.
| | | This aggrivates me. Just give the dude back his Drumkits, throw him Two grand and go back to carrying Hillary Duffs little dog. Cradle Robbers. I hope Billy and Paul sue your ass up next.

| | | Shock horror!!
None of us are surprised or impressed that some people still choose to listen to terrible music
