You could say this guy was falling slowly.
|
| |
Or you could not.
|
| |
That's gotta be traumatizing.

“did a couple of flips”

O_o
Sick shit
|
| |
What the fuck o_o
|
| |
At least he went out with style
|
| |
Sheeple stfu suicide isn't funny.
|
| |
Holy shit. I panicked at first and thought it was one of the band members, but this is still bad. If that
happened to me I don't know if I would ever play again.
Glen is a real man for trying to help him though.
|
| |
Hell of a way to go tbh, but regardless, sucks for everyone who had to witness this incident. Not the douchebag who decided to be a power ranger.
|
| |
Weird...
I can only imagine the concert goers
|
| |
wtf that sucks for everyone attending
|
| |
sounds like a stunt gone wrong
terrible, tho

Good comment via youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HhUuPJGbKg
I was there, and you are right. No matter whatever horrible thing that was going on in his life that made him want to do this, it was spectacularly selfish of him to force all of us to watch him kill himself. There were children in the audience who had to witness that. I hope the band realizes that this event had nothing to do with them or the beautiful music they play. What a horrible thing to do to, not just to himself, but with complete disregard for the feelings of others, as well.
So sucks to the young kids who had to witness that.
|
| |
well clearly he wasn't in a rational state of mind so pointing out that he should've been more 'considerate' is fucking stupid
|
| |
Wonder what his motives for this were.

i thought someone from suicide silence killed themselves....this is sad
|
| |
Kind of a selfish way to go out.
|
| |
I had a couple seconds of panic before this page loaded, thinking it was Hansard or Irglová.
|
| |
That's just crazy! Can't imagine...
|
| |
Wow, I almost thought another musician died for a second. Still pretty insane though.
|
| |
Im going to triple back flip off a hotel hoping to land in the pool.
|
| |
Holy shit. I was THIS CLOSE to going to that show too.
|
| |
Suicides are the saddest kinds of deaths. I don't see why anyone would honestly decide to kill them self.
|
| |
that's horrible
|
| |
that's not cool for the kids. really though.
a person's death is an incredibly important event. to be quite honest, if i were a musician and somebody killed themselves at my show i would feel honored. after the shock had passed, i would feel privileged that someone decided to involve me in one of the most important moments of their life.
i'm well aware this is an unpopular position.
|
| |
Sad news, horrible thing to hear happening...
but imagine if he lived....that woulda been pretty epic.
|
| |
but imagine if he lived....that woulda been pretty epic
He'd have a broken bone/broken leg or two, be arrested and get shit for interrupting the show.
|
| |
That's pretty fucked up, especially because there were young kids there. Not really a cool thing to make kids watch you kill yourself.
|
| |
So fucked up.
|
| |
Fucked up. He ruined what was to be a good show.
|
| |
@TRM Shadow
Suicides are not the saddest kind of deaths. If somebody wants to die, then they can die. It's worse when somebody is killed that wanted to live.
|
| |
That is fucked up.
|

Hermes: I'm not fit to stamp a form, so I'll stamp the sidewalk with my flabby body.
Bender: Do a flip!
|
| |
idk what i was expecting when i copypasted the link balls put up there but now i'm laughing uncontrollably.
|
| |
I want to know how he managed to climb up three stories to the roof without any security trying to stop him. This is fucked. I can't imagine why anyone would pick this way to go out.
|
| |
there is of course the possibility that it was an epic stage dive gone horribly wrong
|
| |
You can't stop a flipper
|
| |
It seems more likely that it was a mistake. If you're suicidal I don't think you'd pay much attention to your trajectory.
|
| |

Honestly three stories is not a stage diving distance. Have you ever looked down from that high up and thought you could survive a jump? Doubtful, js. I think he was probably doing to spite an ex or someone who was there. Totally fucked up shit.

From that roof? Idk dude...
|
| |
That's a big jump. If you nailed a shit ton of lsd maybe, otherwise he probably meant it.
|
| |
Yeah he was either really down, or really thwacked out.
|
| |
He obviously had some talent for climbing.
|
| |
Yeah, it said once he got up there he kept stumbling but he got back up and persisted. He was running off the roof.
|
| |
Well you can't fault his determination
|
| |

nah man i kind of agree but i'd definitely still feel remorse kinda
idk
|
| |
This is so messed up on so many levels...why would he do it in a public place? I don't understand these kind of people...like the people who go postal and shoot off as many people as they can before offing themselves. It's complete cowardice that you need people to watch you kill yourself.
|
| |
death happens. death sucks. some go too soon. some choose to go. its just how it is.
you should be a philosopher or something
|
| |
greg from dillinger would do it and land it and no one would think anything of it.[2]
|

I think in the right (or wrong) mindset, The Swell Season's music is capable of making someone have the urge of jumping off a roof. Right now, being drunk because of a mental breakdown with my girlfriend, I can see the potential suicide tendencies.
But would I ever act upon them? NO WAY.
If anything, their music is a soothing coping mechanism that brings forth the emotions I need to get off my chest. The fact that someone actually took their life in that dramatic of a fashion is just downright depressing. Can you imagine how traumatic that was for the people there? And especially for Hansard, since the guy's dead, limp body landed mere feet away from him. That's the kind of thing that sticks with someone for the rest of their lives.
|
| |
if he were chuck norris he would have landed it,.
|
| |
maybe he was aiming for a stack of hay but missed
|
| |
So did this guy have demons, or does swell suck?
|
| |
Shit. At least they got to see a show... Ok that's fucked up I apologize.
|
| |
maybe he was aiming for a stack of hay but missed
Assassin's Creed jokes are always welcomed by me. I got a tattoo of the game's logo on my leg...Thank you for this one!!!!

Hermes: I'm not fit to stamp a form, so I'll stamp the sidewalk with my flabby body.
Bender: Do a flip!
This; first thing that came to my mind.

shut up
|
| |
Yes andcas, that would be Swell.
|
| |
:P I couldn't resist!
|
| |
as mentioned before in these comments (more or less), suicide is one kind of thing. i can understand it. it is very sad, but it is all about a person's PERSONAL misery. however, it's a different kind of thing to traumatize an audience with a death. there almost certainly had to be heavy drug usage involved. that's not a normal depressed person move, that's a psychopathic dude.
|
| |
and the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.
|
| |
The Swell Season must be really really bad
|
| |
whoever views suicide as selfish is an idiot
