Duran Duran Tap Up Timberlake

2006-09-22 by Dave de Sylvia EMERITUS | 3 Comments
Weary of the (already) tired jokes about "bringing sexy back," Justin Timberlake's gone and actually done it, plucking Simon Le Bon & co. out of my dreams and on to my record player.

Well, not yet, but it's gunna happen.

MTV.com reports that Justin and long-time collaborator and hip-hop genius Timbaland have been in the studio laying down some tracks. A spokesman for the group said "[t]hey are currently trying to schedule more time to get together again and finish the project," while a representative of Timberlake also confirmed the project.

The result or results of the sessions will be featured on Duran Duran's upcoming album. The band and Justin originally discussed a collaboration before 2005's Astronaut, the first album in 20 years to feature all five original members.

Sweet! Astronaut was a decent album, at least better than I expected it to be, I'll be looking forward to whatever they come up with.

Yikes.

Duran Duran is great.

Justin Timberlake doesn't deserve a record contract.
