Periphery used to sound cool to me in my binging meshuggah phase, but now animals as leaders is just a better version of this

Was pumped for this when I heard the album sampler, but this is a bit disappointing.

Congrats to the vocalist being semi- catchy over the wankery of guitars. Hope the album has better songs then this on it.

hoping every song isn't just a medium-paced chug fest with excessive amounts of melody on top. By the end of the song it was already kind of old

EDIT: pretty good song though

If The Walk is on the album, it'll be the best song. No clean vocals on that one.

Bulb is absolutely amazing. Thus, this song is absolutely amazing. Casey impressed me, I like his voice better than the old vocalist who did this. Other than that, not much new here. NEEDS CD NOW

also lol @
"now animals as leaders is just a better version of this"

Bulb (guitarist, drummer, songwriter and producer of Periphery) co-wrote and recorded that entire CD, as well as pretty much teaching Tosin how to play.

Not saying that Tosin isn't an amazing guitarist (which he is), I'm just a little tired of people worshipping AAL when Bulb was there first, purely because he felt like releasing a CD and Bulb would rather release stuff for free and eventually put together a band.

idk dude, as much as i love bulb, tosin was in reflux before bulb was posting songs online i think.

Huh. I know the two have worked together a lot, but I'll have to go back and talk to my old manager who used to be friends with Misha to see who got where first i guess (that's just what she had told me). Either way, I can't wait for this to come out so people start realizing who he is.

Better off instrumental, in my opinion.

Typical vocals are typical.

whether one came before the other-its nice to see both guitarists virtuosity balance out technicality and solid melody/harmonies without coming of like musical masturbation.

3 guitarists just means they couldn't grow the balls to kick one of them out. look at whitechapel. it's just chug-a-lug.

Most of the bands I've heard with three guitarists fail to use the full potential of having three guitarists. I wouldn't say Periphery is one of those bands though.

the only song that becoming the archetype have written that is worthy of a fap circle is:
