I thought THE BLED was something I made up

I remember being pretty into their first album years ago, then quickly falling out of love with them after they overly-streamlined Found in the Flood (and haven't even bothered with Silent Treatment). It seems that their new record is definitely not going to be winning me back, as that song strikes me as a tad too formulaic and a bit too "riff-heavy" for my liking; they might as well just have one guitarist if that song is representative of the rest of the album. Competent, but soulless and forced, and lacking any real emotional weight. Not too impressed.

I've always wanted to check these guys out fo realz
|
| |
Mordecai, if you want to check them out, I wouldn't look past Pass the Flask. Everything else they've done is complete shit, including this boring ass song.
|
| |
So they are not legit? I've heard My Assassin and it was pretty good. I will probably give them a miss then thanks for the heads-up.
|
| |
They pretty much fucked up a potentially unique metalcore sound after Pass the Flask.
|
| |
I second that. Stick with Pass the Flask and pass on the rest.
|
| |
I read somewhere that they shared similarities with Dillinger so thats what caught my interest.
|
| |
The Bled is not nearly as "mathy" as Dillinger (who is, right?), but they are (or have been) a bit more technical and musically interesting than many of the other bands in the metalcore/post-hardcore vein that just play octave chords and breakdowns. Pass the Flask definitely has a few gems on it and is probably worth a listen if you're into this stuff.
|
| |
Always had a soft spot for this band, I'll probably get this when it comes out.

BRACE YOURSELF

What's with the hate for Found in the Flood?
Where pass the flask was just generic metalcore, Found in the Flood actually entered into some fresh territory. Was it perfect? No, but at least they expanded their horizons a little instead of making the Red Wedding breakdown over and over again.
|
| |
yeah, i couldn't get past the first 30 seconds.
|
| |
Pass the Flask is their best album. i enjoy their last two as well. the new song is what i expected but still hope the rest of the album brings the riffs and breakdowns
|
| |
There were some really good moments on Pass the Flask; the breakdown on Red Wedding (and Red Wedding generally) is not one of those moments. However, the clusterfuck at the end of We are the Industry, the ridiculously catchy end of Sound of Sulfur, etc. are some really solid sections (or maybe it's the nostalgia talking...).
I found Found in the Flood just... boring. The only track I ever found myself listening to again was Antarctica. James' (?) singing was downright atrocious (much worse than his screaming on the Pass the Flask), which really irritated me because they redid the vocal tracks on Hotel Coral Essex (which was much better in the original demo version) and plastered his singing all over it. Eeesh. I just really didn't like it, and based on what I've heard from their new stuff, I bailed at the right time (like five years ago, haha).

| |
i used to like found in the flood
but it got boring fast and i never went back
|
| |
hotel coral essex is such a good song i think i have the demo version though
|
| |
I think this band is pretty awesome and all of their releases are solid. Don't get why they get hated on so much here
|
| |
the Red Wedding breakdown is what all great breakdowns have, and should be modeled after
James' clean singing turned out really well on their third album even though most of the album was a wall of noise
|
| |
Silent Treatment is a guilty pleasure of mine
|
| |
hey fuck you guys silent treatment was good
|
| |
but i am thoroughly disappointed by this lackluster turd.
|
| |
everyone should listen to woodlawn for he speaks truths
|
| |
i agree that the new song is far from amazing, but the band does have its moments...
still interested in the new album...
|
| |
Pass the flask is where its at for this band, but there was also some great stuff on Silent Treatment.
|
| |
smoke breaks was better than crowbait...
|
| |
PTF is an alright album, i actually much prefer Found In The Flood. Silent Treatment was pretty decent too. This album sounds like it has potential.
|
| |
I seriously dont even know how thats possible. To like any of their albums over pass the flask. All of their shit but PTF is plain AWFUL. Its like all that touring with linkin park and snoop dogg ruined their ability to make good music again
|
| |
band is awful
|
| |
Pass the Flask is still solid and quite unique in my mind.
|
| |
fukn loved found in the flood + pass the flask. im pretty stoked for heat fetish
