I see 4 great albums and a few that I need to check out. They have a few really horrible ones mixed in though which kinda' turns me off though. Fair year end list; I've seen better and I've seen worse.

Kerrang's normally pretty hit and miss, but bar a few that personally I could care less about this is a really solid list

Shikari's new album isn't awful (i don't care what anyone says) but it isn't good either
AOF's new album is good...it's a grower, but it's not really cohesive...
List needs Thrice.

Gallows isn't good. I hate them. I especially hate their arrogant vocalist. For some ungodly reason, they toured with AFI, so my girlfriend and I had to listen to that dude's annoying heckling of The National's security. Screw him.

I'm not surprised at all that Gallows made #1. It's a good album, but i'd say it made it to the top given the shared nationality of the band and the magazine.

Great to see Kylesa, Alexisonfire, Converge, Mastodon and Alice In Chains but how can Kerrang have credibility when none of the following awesome prog and metal bands got a mention for 2009 albums:

5 good albums in the top 6 (no. 3 not so much). Prodigy's also good, otherwise nothing special but the least shockingly awful list I've seen so far this year.
