Trophy Scars Album(s) Update

2009-11-28 by WoodLawn | 31 Comments
New Jersey post-hardcore act Trophy Scars have officially released their limited edition split 7" with New York-based screamo band 'The Saddest Landscape.'

They have also announced that they are entering the studio in January to record a new EP with producer Chris Badami (Dillinger Escape Plan, etc.), who they worked with on their last record 'Bad Luck.' They also intend to record a new full-length soon after, where they promise things will get "dark and wacky."

I dont want to be this guy right now, but these guys did have a lot of trouble releasing bad luck because of monetary issues so support them if you can, they deserve it.

This song is god awful. Hospital Music was at least tolerable. He sings behind rhythm on the entire song, like he's trying to do this whole sedated, held back emotion thing. It's so forced haha. Saddest Landscape tune is pretty good though.

What did I say that rang of ignorance to you? Where is it that I have no fucking clue what I'm talking about.

You say that its forced when it obviously isnt. Jerry's singing style is pretty unique in the music scene and anyone who knows anything about their discography would know that this song is a natural progression for them, cutting out the screaming and using more atmospheric effects to keep the listener's attention, much like the techniques employed on their latest album "Bad Luck."

Saying that he's attempting to do something he really isn't is just ignorant. Were you in the studio with them?

I think not.

No i wasn't. But i listen to enough music to know that Jerry doesn't "fake" emotion.

Haha. Defensive, aren't you? It's cute. Instead of dignifying this with a response I'm just going to say again that this song is bad. I'll embrace ignorance if it means I don't have to think this is tolerable in anyway.

I went to college. It has nothing to do with them. I think I'm the shit.

I don't see the big deal. I legitimately like their early stuff, but this just sounds so forced. I'm not acting like the fags of h/e just because someone called me ignorant for stating a different opinion.

I just don't get the personal attack. I never even directly address you in conversation because I'm fearful that you'll just say something demeaning or, at the very least, slightly too sarcastic for me to grasp seeing as I don't actually know you and text on the internet doesn't carry meaning very well.

Saying things about TS that are unfounded, and quite frankly, untrue warrants people getting pissed. I have no problem with you, nor do i dislike you. I just think youre wrong.
