Dan Palmer to write with former Death By Stereo guitarist

2006-07-29 by Alex101 | 8 Comments
In a recent interview with guitarist Dan Palmer he said that he wants to write with Death by Stereo's former guitarist Jim Miner and record with his brother Paul, who played bass with the band, for the band's follow-up to 2005's Death for Life.

"Yeah it's true. I've personally been writing a lot of riffs for it. We actually have a month off which is very rare for us. Actually, it won't be a month off because we'll be writing music and we'll be writing with our old guitar player Jim Miner too. We might even record with our old bass player Paul - we'll see what happens. The new stuff I wanna go more melodic - not so much not heavier stuff but I want to work on vocal harmonies - I just wanna go out with that!"

Death by Stereo's follow-up to 2005's Death for Life is expected to surface sometime in spring 2007. This is the first time that the band has recorded with the Miner brothers have recorded together with the band since 2003's Into the Valley of Death.

When I saw these guys at a Mastodon concert I thought they were pretty lame.

Never heard of them. Is this band trying tobe cool with the word death? They're called Death By Stereo, and have two albums with the word death in it. Sorry if it makes me seem liek some weirdo to notice this but seriously.

They put on a pretty energetic live show, but their music sadly is nothing special. Still, I liked Into the Valley of Death more than their last, so I guess it's good news.

Um... first off, you're all retarded, DBS kicks ass, their lyrics are well-written AND funny (think Propagandhi only more sarcastic), and they can outplay any punk/metal/whatever band out there. Efrem's voice is great too.

I didn't necessarily mean you personally. I've been into DBS since they came out with If Looks Could Kill.... It's a rough album but they were doing a lot of the metal-meets-hardcore-meets-punk way before it was fashionable, and the drumming is SICK. But you should check out Death For Life, it's a bit more metal than their previous albums, but the guitar work is pretty awesome (dueling solos) and Efrem's singing is at its best.
