Metallica Release iPhone App

Metallica have launched an app for the iPhone that allows fans to stream any purchase from LiveMetallica.com on their iPhone.

The LiveMetallica.com site contains over 5,300 live songs from almost every show Metallica have played since March 2004.

The livemetallica recordings actually have a pretty awesome sound. Some outdoor gigs aren't great, but in indoor venues they capture it pretty much perfectly. When I saw them in Oslo this summer the sound when I was there in the arena was lousy, but the recording sounds amazing.

I can't believe that there aren't more bands that record and sell their shows online.
