New Switchfoot album + label

2009-08-08 by AtavanHalen | 11 Comments
San Diegan rock band Switchfoot have announced plans to release their seventh album, Hello Hurricane this November through both their own label, lowercase people records, and international distributor Atlantic and EMI/CMG.
In a blog posted earlier today on their MySpace page, the band explained that their partnership with the major labels "will ensure that these tunes are heard around the world".
"More info regarding the release date will be coming shortly. This is an incredible time to be alive- an incredible time to be making music. We're so proud of this record and we can't wait for you to hear it!"
Hello Hurricane will be the band's first new album since 2007's Oh! Gravity and 2008's compilation The Best Yet. They are currently on tour throughout the US.

This is old news. Not sure about the new label though.
And plus it's gonna suck if it's anything thing like Oh! Gravity.

I think they have enough material for a few new albums that will be released over the years.

Oh! Gravity had some really experimental awesome awesome songs (Circles, Dirty Second Hands) and some of their worst. It was like a "The Best and Worse of Switchfoot" album.

Still think they're 'bout to make their best album. If they continue in the weird direction; however, with a name like "Hello Hurricane", probably not. Sigh.
