Not listened to any Cannibal Corpse in about a decade, really. Never got round to it, so I don't really know if this is their sound on the past few albums. Pretty similar sound to 2010. It's pretty solid. Nothing special.

Don't know about the music, but the album art feels like a step down from the all time brutality-high of its predecessor.

This goes so fuckin hard. Sounds like the perfect coalition of old school CC and new. Rutan is the real MVP.

This band isn't slowing down anytime soon, dudes are in their 50's and are just getting heavier and heavier.

This goes hard AF, I would say that their slower/doomier stuff is more brutal than the fast riff ones.

I never understood the love for CC, old or "modern" CC which is kind of weird considering the amount of death metal I listened to and still listen to

I used to purchase their albums, up until Bloodthirst. Lost interest, as their output became progressively less interesting. That being said, I still wouldn't mind attending any of their gigs, as I'd happilly admit that they're competent entertainers.

Agreed with anthracks on this not being the best single. It's solid of course but the first single for the last album inhumane harvest was quite a bit better. This would be one of the weaker songs on violence unimagined honestly

"I never understood the love for CC"

The love is because nearly every album they release is fucking awesome.

"I used to purchase their albums, up until Bloodthirst"

Bro, you're missing out on Kill, Torture, Violence Unimagined, ugh

Yeah, I dig this song but I agree - would be one of the weaker tracks on their last album and inhuman harvest was like 10000x better than this

Skeletal is to clean and polished production wise from mark lewis. It's like the most family friendly cc record especially with the none gory cover. Kill and torture leagues better tbh. The last album to I never understood the skeletal love from some folks
